COMP Cams Magnum 286HR Camshaft with a 3000 to 6500 RPM Range for 1985-1995 Mustangs with Carbureted 5.0L Engines.

This hydraulic roller camshaft will fit Ford 5.0 Liter engines from 1985-2001.

Magnum cams generate great high RPM power. The can be used with mild ratio rocker arms and traditional performance valve springs as they are easy on valve train parts. These camshafts like compression ratios of 9.5:1 and higher. A torque converter and gear change is really needed. The larger Magnum cams are a little lazy at low RPMs.

This camshaft is best for street/strip applications. A 5-speed should have 4.10 or lower gears with higher compression, an aftermarket intake, and exhaust. A higher stall torque converter is required.
