When you are replacing your coil springs, you may already be thinking about ride comfort. Upgrading to polyurethane coil spring insulators is a easy way to firm up your ride.

Insulators are also important to minimize the squeaking caused by the coil springs under shock load. These insulators go on top of the coil springs between the spring and the upper control arm.

These are round, the holes these mount into on a '69 are not. I tried to force them on, lube and pry with a screwdriver and finally resorted to trimming off some of the material from the inside. After trimming I was able to get them to go on, but you really shouldn't have to do this. Maybe the hole in the shock tower for other years is smaller and these will fit with less fuss, but be aware you may need to do some shaving to make these slip on.
