I am getting ready to do the quarter panels on my 65 coupe but the doors were sagging and not closing right. I removed the hinges to inspect them and they had terrible play, the springs were toast, and the cams and rolling pins were severely degraded. I decided to take a chance and try one of these kits and the one that I installed on the passenger side was surprising easy to install. Both of the hinges on the passenger side are very tight thanks to the new brass bushings, the spring seems to be real strong, and the new cam was pretty much identical to the original. After installing the kit I have no sag and crisp operation. The only complaints that I have deal with the replacement pins that hold the cam roller and the cam into place. They seemed to be larger in diameter than the original which made it a little hard to press into the mounts. However, the snug fit does ensure that the pins don't go anywhere and that may have been done purposely. Also the pin that is used to hold the cam in place was a little t
Im refurbishing my 66 hinges. The pins are extremely tight and longer then the originals so pressing the in was tricky. The check arm and time are not the same size as the factory. The head of the pin is larger than the original hole in the hinge. Additionally it will not fit flush with the hinge and the charm are is allowed to move perpendicular to to the axis it swings in. Since its a different size then the OEM parts I could not make it work and have to use the orignial worn check arm. Just buy the kit with the bushings and pins. This one is not worth buying!
