Mustang Firewall Assembly 1965-1966

Firewall Assembly for 1965-1966 Mustangs.

This is a complete firewall panel which includes the entire vertical panel up to the cowl and the two toe board panels that attaches to the floor boards. Heavy gauge stamped steel construction with a black primer coating for protection during storage and shipping.

Please Note: The mounting holes for the Parking Brake Handle Assembly are incorrect. Slight modification is required.

An original 1965-1966 Coupe and Fastback firewall had a flange on the sides where it meets the A pillar. Our replacement firewalls do not have this flange so you will be required to fabricate it. However, installing torque boxes (recommended) will fill the gap and you can simply seam seal the space instead of fabricating a flange.

*Requires modifications to fit Convertibles.

fire wall installation

4 Stars

On 2/14/2012 10:40:16 AM, jason carroll from LA

I felt the installation of the fire wall was not that bad. the one down falll that I found is that ther was no angel on the kick pan to the inside rocker. I have been asking for advice from severall body shops in the area I am a retired army mecahnic but have no sheet metal exsperiance, but at 65$ and hour I will try myself. I have a long way to go on my 19666 coupe but I am proud of what I have done on my own so far. I just hope that it doesn"t go down the road sideways when i am done.

heater holes 1/2 inch too large

This is a pretty nice piece for aftermarket but it has issues. The biggest one I noticed is the heater holes are 1 1/2 inch diameter while the factory had 1 inch diameter holes.

Parking brake mounting holes are backwards

I contacted CJ's and all they could say was that I was the first one to complain about this, but I was in fact correct... Only thing I got back from them was that all firewalls are like this and all distributors have the same problem... No reassurance that the issue would be resolved for the future. Also was told the description would be changed on this site to mention the issue... As you can see it has not been.
