Product Description

Ford Racing "Hurst" Manual Shifter for 1983-2001 Mustangs with a T5 or T45 Manual Transmission.

This Ford Racing manual shifter assembly, made by Hurst, is built on a base made from a single piece of CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum and includes a chrome "Hurst" super short throw shift handle and "Hurst" white shift knob with 5-speed shift pattern.

Features positive stops to prevent over-travel. Includes mounting hardware and gasket.

*Does NOT fit Tremec 3650 transmission, 2001+ Mustang Cobras, Mustang Bullitts or Mustang GTs (3650 transmission has the drain plug in the bottom of the case).
*2001 GT Mustangs were available with two different transmissions. Check your transmission code on the driver side door jamb data sticker to see which code your 01 GT has. "6" is a T45 transmission, "K" is a Tremec 3650.

best all around shifter in my opinion. the throw isn't quite as short as some of the others like the pro 5.0 or steeda, but i think that's a good thing because it means it doesn't take as much effort to shift. it sits higher and is easier to reach than some like the pro 5.0 that sit really low. the way it's curved is also a little better with the stereo than the others that have straight lines with sharp angles. no idea why ford didn't just have a bellhousing about an inch longer so the shifter wasn't right on the radio. the pool ball knob that comes with it is great, but i think the hurst t-handle goes with it perfectly. as always, was a pleasure buying it from cjponyparts.

Feels like old times...
After installing the Ford Racing/Hurst shifter in my 92 SSP LX Mustang, it suddenly took on a nostalgic look & feel. The shifter is smooth and precise. It's much easier to reach now than the shorter Pro-5 that was in the car. The Pro-5 shifter is not a bad shifter, but this one is better. It's easier to shift quickly and smoothly, plus the looks are just icing on the cake! The chrome handle with the white cue ball knob set any interior off. CJ Pony customer service was helpful and their shipping quick. They have been helping me put my Fox back in like new condition. If you like a little bit of the old look, but with a new feel, this is the shifter for you!
