This shifter is paired and sold with Barton's shifter bracket (HW2960). Barton's billet aluminum shifter bracket will further improve shift performance by helping to eliminate missed shifts due to shifter deflection caused by the flimsy factory shifter bracket.
*Barton's shift knob only fits cars that originally came with the leather wrapped shift knob; it will not fit the shift boot from optional interior upgrade with billet shift knob or the Boss 302.

I have had several Mustangs since 1993, always hated the shifter. If you want to do one thing to improve your MT82 equipped Mustang, get this shifter and mount. The short throw is great and 3rd gear is no longer a moving target. Shifter is easy, easy to install, suggest a 1/4 drive to make it easier. The shifter bracket is a little more trouble, but well worth the effort. This product cut .2 seconds off of the 1/4 mile.
Another added plus is the Barton shifter knob, it gets the knob high enough to shift with a coke in the holder, instead of having to reach under the car to shift. Do yourself a favor and get this one, because at the cost it is a great bargain
I had a 2007 Mustang GT That I had the Hurst in and I loved it. When I bought my 2013 the only thing I really disliked was the shift. I bought the Barton Shifter and Bracket and I am in love again. Great precise throw. No missing gears. Very little noise etc. This kit is great. And the instructions are well done and thought out. Had the shifter in in about a hour.
