These fit perfect, and really clean-up the look of the ugly top of the shock towers. No trimming necessary, but they were so tight it took a rubber hammer to snap them on. My car is black so these totally blend-in. If you have another color car - you might want to paint them to match.
Nice clean look especially if you have a pair of black plastic battery and master cylinder covers. Fits nice once mounted. Can be trimmed easily if you have a Strut Bar with 2 holes. Caution! Do not attempt to force these on they will crack. Simple fix is to turn them over and put a 1/2 inch slit on each side of the tabs so the plastic will give a little. Do little at a time. Use Caution.
These look great on the 2010 Shelby GT500 as previously stated in past reviews. As long as you take your time and follow the directions they snap on without any problems. Took under a minute on each side, just make sure you have the cut-outs aligned with the strut tower. Only complaint is I wish they would've came with a small amount of assembly grease as is required for installation. Some of us non-mechanics don't have that sitting around in our garage and have to go buy some once these arrive. Shipping was super fast too, overall a great product and really dresses up the engine compartment!
Update: California Pony Cars, who make the covers, quickly contacted me and sent me a replacement. I was very shocked at how fast they were to replace my broken part. Janine (SP?) was extreemly helpful, and did her best to get ahold of me through the week. It was greatly appreciated. The parts are thin abs, like I said, the first one broke easily, but I got the other two on with a little work. Maybe the first one I had had some issues, but the company quickly acted, and got me a replacement. A+++ for customer service. I did not expect that.
The look is great, but the plastic is brittle! Installed just as told and the drivers side cracked. Very disappointed to say the least. Can't show of the new engine with a crack in the cover. 1 star is generous.
Great buy, clean look. Easily modified to fit with strut tower brace. Just take your time, use plenty of grease, and I found using a towel and rubber mallet worked the best to get them in.
Just got these today-went to put the driver's side on and CRACK- these are made of a brittle plastic. If they had been made of some type of polyeurathane, they would have worked. Followed the instructions, greased them up, didn't even try to put on the passengers- no point. Spend the money and just buy the aluminum covers, or the single covers. Got the parts from CJ pretty quick.
The CPC Shock Tower Covers fit PERFECT on my 2010 Shelby GT 500 and look fantastic! You must follow the instructions as in the area of applying grease on the tabs and inside tube of the covers so they snap down easy without breaking them! You must also follow the instructions on pulling off the black plastic caps off the tower bolt. Any of you questioning the proper fit for your Shelby, it is perfect no problems!
Easiest install. A rub of grease on the center tab and slowly rock them into place. They snap when in place. I have a white GT500 and they look great, better than the bare shock tower nuts. I wonder if they can be painted??
Was looking for something to clean up the engine compartment, & not interested in a lot of chrome. Saw a set on another Shelby GT500, ( grabber blue ) and asked the owner where he got them. Placed my order, which was delivered very quickly, and did the install. I am usually leary of parts that don't come from Ford, but these fit perfectly as advertised. The instructions were clear & accurate, and it took very little time to install. Would recommend this product, it's a great way to hide those unsightly strut tower bolts, and it doesn't cost a lot of money
These are a really nice addition to your engine compartment. Get some grease to lubricate the inside per the directions and snap them in place. Driver's side went in for me in about 20 seconds, passenger took me about 4 minutes. I can see how they might break if you are not patient, but mine went in with little trouble.
After the second set of CPC shock caps, I can say, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY on these. The first set I thought I did something wrong, the cap broken as it was being push on. Check the reviews, I decided it was me and tried another set, stupid mistake. These caps could not be more fragile if they were made of glass. So be forewarned. The rating above should be zero, one is too good for this crap
What a great inexpensive mod to dress up the engine bay of my 11 Shelby GT500...I was a bit apprehensive based on some other reviews, cracking, using grease, etc...but,easy install NO grease, NO cracking, just put a glove on my hand and a few solid hits with my fist and perfect.
