This replacement metal panel provides the mounting point for the front of the fuel tank. Welds in front of the fuel tank and continues towards the differential.

This repair panel did not match my trunk floor profile in my 65 fastback. My trunk floor in front of the tank is curved.

Cut old out, welded new piece in using gas tank as a guide. Perfect fit.
