Needs Work To Fit

Finish of the part is OK. Fit, not so much. The attaching bolt holes were tapered to the point they had to be drilled to accept the mounting bolts. The interior of the housing had to be clearanced to allow proper orientation of a thermostat with a vent at 12 o'clock. The supplied gasket is low quality paper destined to early failure. I substituted a good FelPro gasket. The bypass hose fitting barely screwed into the housing far enough to prevent a nasty kink in the hose. As it is the bend in the hose is less than desirable. The fitting uses pipe threads which means the base of the housing is thicker than stock and the fitting doesn't screw in flush with the housing. If they used a straight thread with an o-ring seal it would allow for a thinner base and more compact package reducing the severe hose bend. This part is heavy! The thicker than stock base and steel construction make this part much heavier than the stock housing.
