Quality of Shaft was good. waited entirely to long for the back ordered shaft to arrive. once it arrived the rear joint was incorrect for my application. Called CJ for advise, waited on hold for way to long. Once I spoke with an associate his response was" we don't guarantee that the U-joints will work for your Application. No where does that statement appear before we considser purchasing it. A little measuring and research revealed the correct application (Moog P353 ) and installed it without further complication. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH!!!
This product is great, lightweight and spot on. Had the correct sized u-joints on mine. It is lightweight and well balanced.BUT!! I was extremely unhappy with the wait. It took TWO MONTHS to receive this product.
I bought this one because of the price. It is very reasonable IMO. The balance on my was spot on. I have had custom made steel drive shafts before that were not this smooth. I was leery of the steel because normally they are not a smooth as an aluminum one. Not the case with this one. The only thing is that although it does come with u-joints they might not be correct for your application. For my 69 the rear I need a joint with 2 1.1/16 caps for the drive shaft and 2 with 1.1/8 caps for the differential. Although the smaller caps fit the joint will only last a few thousand miles. The front joint was the correct one with 1.1/16 caps for the yoke I also purchased.
The quality and appearance of this part is very nice,BUT, when you order it you dont know what u-joints will be installed on it.If you are using a 5 speed yoke for a t5 tranny most likely you will have to replace the u-joint for the yoke because it requires a joint with larger distance between caps. You can usually find this u joint at a local parts store but be prepared to get a puzzled look from the counter guy when you tell him what you want.Because obviously they wont be able to look the u joint up because its not a "factory application".If you dont have a press or vice then be prepared to take the driveshaft to a tranny shop and pay to have the u joint you bought installed on the driveshaft.
