I've only been using this for a short time and should probably wait to write a review, but I did discover something that might be of interest to others. Like the others, my igniter works perfectly and was a snap to install. The problem I encountered was not the igniter's fault. I bought my 68 Mustang with a new, but very cheap and inadequate battery in it. As a result, it started hard because the battery didn't have enough amperage to crank the engine and supply adequate voltage to the igniter at the same time. If it didn't start instantaneously, it would need a jump. Make sure you have a good strong battery and you'll be just fine.
I recently re-purchaced the Ignitor II after my first one failed, now known because it did not have the Full 12V required, purchaced along with the Pertronix Relay Kit, now my resistor wire is still intact and all works like Pertronix suggests with 12V. I even kept the points and made a short jumper wire for a roadside emergency swap out. After 2 timing adjustments my Stang has some kick again and the unburnt exhaust smell is 99% gone! No matter how I tuned the carb and timing and points before Pertronix, it always had a strong exhaust odor. The odor's gone now! yay!
Remember, the Ingnitor II requires a FULL 12 V so do the install right, learn from my mistake (of letting someone else do the install the first time)do you research, do it right! Now, go lay some rubber!
