Great product, works very well, simple installation, could not be happier, my 65 is a wonder to drive now,
This is a great solid company which offers quality equipment and outstanding customer service. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking at doing the power steer conversion.
Great addition to my 66 Mustang! Huge difference from the original non-power steering. Only issue I ran into was finding the correct 6-groove serpentine pulley for the Saginaw pump included. After finding the pulley, everything else was a breeze.
I read good things about this kit online and I loved the concept of it. I thought the installation was fairly straightforward and all the necessary parts came with the kit. I have only driven about 50 miles but the bump steer is pretty bad. I have the Pro Motorsports Bump Steer Kit installed but it's still a challenge to keep it headed straight on a bumpy road. The challenge is amplified by the lack of feel/feedback at the steering wheel. I plan to take it back to the alignment shop before I drive anywhere else. It's also a pain when parking sometimes because the power assist isn't assisting with my engine at idle speed. I didn't expect my steering to feel like my M3 but it doesn't feel like a $1K improvement from my stock manual setup either.
this kit is great my mustang drives awesome steering is tight and very easy now, well worth the money recommend to all
great kit easy to install and works great on my 66 mustang
The hardest part of this project was trying to figure out the where all the pieces go. The documentation was horrible and did not show how to install the steering column retainer system. I wouldn’t have even known that it had a steering column retainer if I hadn’t opened up the box that the steering shaft came in. The documentation does not show which line to connect to connect to which inlet on the steering box, so you are left to guess or search the Internet to find the correct location for the lines. The whole documentation was one sheet of paper, which mostly stated that you must flush the pump. It was shocking to me to see that such a great product have such a terrible installation guide. I emailed the company and they said to watch a couple of videos on the installation, but that didn’t show the whole installation process and most of the videos where done without the engine uninstalled.
Now that everything is installed I have to say the product is great and functions as advertised. It would be an ou
The hardest part of this kit is getting the old stuff out first. The new parts line up almost perfectly, and have received great review on several classic Mustang forums. It it, however, MUCH easier to put in with the engine out. Since my car had P/S and A/C, I had to shim behind the A/C mounting bracket. The new mounting bracket sits VERY close to the oil pressure sending unit - I recommend getting an "L" connector and moving the sender out of the way. The most difficult part of the installation is getting the braided wire-reinforced low pressure return line onto the pump. Lots of lube and patience helps.
