The product is as described in the ad, but it is very easy to tear. I tore the front piece in two trying to maneuver it into place. It really needs to have some kind of a backing that is a little more rugged. The piece that goes under the rear seat of my 67 fastback really was a poor fit but it was easy enough to trim with a razor knife.
The material is like a paper coated with tar and is very thin. All you need to do is fold it or bend it and it tears. By the time we got ours in the car it was in several pieces. It does fit and is well cut to specs. I do not think it was worth the money and is overpriced. But I would not want to put the carpet in without something between the metal.
I bought this to put underneath the new carpet I ordered form this site as well. It came rolled up inside of the box so I had to unroll it when I was ready to put it into the car. It is made out of a comparatively heavy material and it deadens the sound incredibly well.
