Rear License Plate Light 1967-1970

Product Description

Rear License Plate Light for 1967-1970 Mustangs.

Checking to make sure all your lights work properly is a good practice to get into for many safety and visibility reasons. The rear license plate light is a light people tend to forget about until something happens and they get told it is out. This light is made to factory specifications to fit just like the original rear license plate light. Light includes both the license plate light lens and gasket.

*NOTE: Made like 67-68; will fit 69-70 with some modifications

Rear License Plate Light 1967-1970 is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Will use but its pretty bad I have 69 fastback. You have to bend one of the tabs to make it work but that is only the beginning. The light in mine was cracked and the reason why is the poor fit and finish of the lens. If you tighten it down there is no room for the bulb and it breaks. Instead I repositioned the lens with one screw and one zip tie. I kept it becuase u can't see it and it works but boy oh boy, this one above any of the other parts and thousands of dollars I've spent with cjponyparts (always my favorite for parts) is the worst.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Modification required. The mounting holes to not line up with the holes in the bumper but it is easy to bend one of the tabs. It does not sit completely flush but it can't be seen & is better than drilling a new hole in the bumper.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Returned it The only way to make this work in a 69 is to drill another hole in your bumper, I choose not to so I returned it. I would not recommend this to a 69 owner, other years I would.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brightened my day This plate light is a great replacement if yours is rusted, cracked or missing. Mounts up without any problems, new wiring without any splicing.

Is the lens made of glass or plastic?  Was the original glass?

What are the modifications required to fit a 1969 model? Also do I need to order light bulbs separately? Thanks.

Asked by: Londont5
Got mine a month ago.  It looks like the hole spacing of the bracket is about an inch wider than the holes in my repop bumper on my '69 FB.  Going to have to drill another hole in the bumper.  And the bulb is included.   I looked at the light on Kentucky Mustang and it appears to be exactly the same as this one but they show it as '71 through '73.   Dallas Mustang has this exact one listed for '67-'68 and a different one for '65-'66.   Good luck.
