Product Description

Set of Red Upper and Lower Rear Tubular Control Arms for all 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998 Mustangs.

If you like to drive your Mustang fast, hard and loud, you may have noticed the stock control arms just can't cut it. The factory stamped steel control arms are just fine for the everyday casual driver, but the spirited driver needs something a bit more durable. This set of Red Upper and Lower Rear Tubular Control Arms for all 1979-1998 Mustangs are just what you need!

These replacement tubular control arms will fit directly in place and swap out the old factory stamped steel control arms in all 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998 Mustangs. This control arms in this kit are constructed from brawny, reliable tubular steel. Thick and stout, these arms provide the support and firmness in the suspension you want, while the bright, bold red paint adds a touch of flair and style to this upgrade.

This kit includes mounting hardware as well as new, upgraded polyurethane bushings that provide stiff, rigid support for a dramatically increased overall performance. These hard bushings and strong control arms will help reduce the wheel hop resulting from weaker arms bending. The reinforcement and augmented strength added by this kit will improve your Mustang's launches and heighten the control and precision of handling and maneuvering.

Don't be content to settle with the stock control arms that tend to deflect, flex and bow during feisty, vigorous driving. CJ Pony Parts has hundreds of suspension parts for your Mustang so you can make the necessary upgrades to feel confident, safe and smart, when you really lay into her and push your pony to the extreme!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value Bought this for my 89 gt took me longer to cut off all the old seized bolts from the original control arms than ordering and installing the these new ones. Like the grease fittings. The red paint in not very nice all blotchey but for the price it was worth every penny

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Replacement Part These tubular control arms are the way to go even if you are not into performance. At the price it pays to replace your old stock worn out ones. You will get better traction and never have to worry about changing them again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good part Very easy to put on great looking would have given five stars but the hard wear that comes with it needs to be a higher grade the bolts stripped when I Torqued them to the spec it said in the instructions

Hello.  Will these arms work on the  1994 Mustang Cobra with the IRS I've seen that many others don't fit mine with the independent rear suspension.

Asked by: Broadsword
No, this will not fit an IRS rear.

After installing this kit, without doing any other modifications, what size tires can I fit in the back of my 93 foxbody GT. I'm running 16in rims and the rest of the suspension is stock.

Asked by: Jstark86
You should be fine with whatever size tires you want - there aren't any restrictions listed on account of this part.

will this kit eliminate wheel hop if the quad shocks are removed? I have an 83 GT with an 89 8.8 rear end and I had to install traction bars to stop the rear end from hopping.

Asked by: just hopping
It might not eliminate it, but it certainly will make it better.

Rear Tubular Control Arm Kit Red 1979-1998 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: We’re here with a set of upper and lower tubular rear control arms fitting your 1979 through 1998 Mustang. This upper and lower control arm set is an excellent low cost upgrade for any '79 through '98 Mustang. The factory arms use a stamped steel design which can be very weak and flimsy along with some rubber bushings. These feature polyurethane bushings and a much stronger tubular design. They include all necessary hardware for installation as well as zerk fittings so they are fully grease-able. These control arms are available in the red finish shown here and they are also available in a black finish.
