Product Description

Repair panel for the driver side lower cowl panel on all 1965-1968 Mustangs.

Measures 15-1/2"x18". In order to install this you must first remove the upper cowl panel by drilling out the spot welds. Then this panel gets welded in place after cutting the old one.

This item is 1965-1966 specific due to the mounting studs for the fresh air vent that mounts below it. The studs will fit a 1965-1966 vent but will not fit the 1967-1968 without drilling additional holes in the vent. If you do not wish to drill holes in the vent, you can purchase COWL3 which is a one piece lower cowl for 1967-1968.

Product Questions

Will the cowl patch panel fit (even with some massage) a 1966 Fairlane/Comet? I have a Comet and it need the whole patch for both sides. Also, the air vent for the comet is 6" round. Is this vent the same size?

Asked by: SparWars
This is only designed for 1965-1966 Mustangs. If it fits a Comet, we're unaware of it, and haven't tested that fitment.

By Bill Tumas: We're here with lower cowl patch panels for your '64 through '68 Mustang. The lower cowl area around the hat here is probably one of the most common places that early Mustangs rust out due to drain holes being blocked. These patch panels will weld in place in your lower cowl to repair the damage on your '64 through '68 Mustang. The panels come ready to weld in place with the bracket for your fresh air vent and a passenger side bracket pre-welded in place. If you're getting water in the floor of your '64 through '68 Mustang after washing it or when driving in the rain, there's a strong possibility that your cowl is leaking and these patch panels can be used to repair it.
