Product Description

Ridetech RQ Series Front Coilover Suspension Kit with Strong Arms for all 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970 Mustangs.

Improve the ride quality of your 1967-1970 Mustang with this new RQ Series Front Coilover Suspension Kit with StrongArms, courtesy of Ridetech. This kit has been designed and built from superior quality materials to deliver an impressive suspension kit that improves ride quality while lowering your Mustang's ride stance.

This kits mono-tube construction offers fade free performance and superior ride quality for your 1967-1970 Mustang. An impact forged aluminum body with an anodized finish provides superior strength and reliable service. A 5/8" chrome shock shaft moves a 1.834" piston made for dampening suspension travel. Oil leakage is eliminated with the use of a double sealed rod guide and dust cover. The coilovers height adjuster uses a unique clamp for locking and finer thread for simple adjustment with minimal effort. There is no set screw to ruin threads on the shock body. The kit also includes 1/2" bore x 1" Kevlar lined bearings for noise free operation and expertly CNC machined billet hardware.

Ridetech RQ Series Front Coilover Suspension Kit Includes:
- Two (2) Ridetech Front RQ Series Coilovers for use with StrongArms
- Two (2) Ridetech StrongArm Upper Control Arms for use with Shockwaves or Coilovers
- Two (2) Ridetech StrongArm Lower Control Arms for use with Shockwaves or Coilovers

Ridetech uses premium quality, 2-1/2" coil springs that have been constructed using CNC machined, cold wound high tensile steel. This method decreases overall coilover weight, adds resistance to bowing and bending and increases the amount of travel in the coilover offering a smoother ride. Ridetech has engineered these springs to help your 1967 Mustang handle to the best of its ability.

The Ridetech StrongArm is a precision engineered solution for ball joint binding, shockwave installation and frame clearance issues that can be a hassle with some Mustangs. This set of tubular control arms has been built with performance and durability in mind. Development of this kit was performed on an actual 1967-1970 Mustang, ensuring that all of the fitment and performance issues have been properly addressed and accounted for. StrongArms offer superior performance to OE replacement equipment and are built with all of the care and experience you have come to expect from Ridetech.

StrongArm control arms are jig welded with .219" wall drawn over mandrel (DOM) tubing for a proper fit, reliability and long lasting strength. Optimized ball joint angle ensures no binding during extreme suspension travel. StrongArms control arms have been designed with the least amount of components as possible, in order to keep things simple. The black powder coated finish creates long lasting appearance that also protects. StrongArms are preassembled with ball joints and bushings ready to be bolts into place.

The upper StrongArm cross shaft lowers the pivot point of the upper control arm. Lowering this pivot point allows for an increase in camber gain. This also helps to keep the tire on the surface of the road when you're pushing your Mustang through hard corners. The drop in the pivot point is built into the control arm cross shaft so that no other modifications are needed. All these upgrades are achieved in a bolt-on part, making installation incredibly simple.

The lower StrongArm eliminates the strut rod with an ingenious one-piece design. Ridetech has swapped the original rubber bushings used to attach the strut rod to the frame, with an all new bearing assembly. This bearing setup cancels out the compression that is sometimes experienced during hard braking or cornering. Lower arms use an eccentric eliminator, this plate has multiple positions to be used when aligning your 1967-1970 Mustang. Once a position has been chosen and are set, you will not need to worry about your alignment moving. Any fine tuning that may be needed can be accomplished with the upper control arm, as it is now fully adjustable.

The improved design of the suspension starts with the positioning of the frame mounts and the height of the spindle. The fore and aft positioning of the ball joints have been adjusted to allow for extra caster potential. Ridetech makes sure the wheel is properly positioned within the wheel-well, making sure that 18" wheels will be able to fit into position without a problem. Ball joint camber travel has been re-centered to accommodate for the new, lowered ride height. This keeps the ball joint from binding up during extreme suspension movement. StrongArms are optimized to allow for proper camber adjustment with a lowered ride height, this eliminates the need to use any alignment shims.

Lowering a Mustang and upgrading the suspension to handle performance driving are two of the most common desires of Mustang owners looking at new suspension components. Well, CJ Pony Parts has both in one package. Check out the Mustang suspension kits and components from Ridetech, which features air ride suspension kits that allow you to both lower the suspension and appreciate a much firmer ride, especially in performance situations.
