This is Rod & Custom's most popular system! A true coilover system that allows ride height adjustability. While other kits adjust the height by simply screwing the shocks up or down, Rod & Custom uses their "Unique Slide" design that allows the kit to operate through the full range of motion without loss of travel. By using one of these kits you will gain an extra 7" of engine clearance on each side!

- Year of Mustang
- Engine Size

*Available for V8 engines ONLY, Rod & Custom Motorsports does not have motor mounts for the inline 6-cylinder engines.
*Does NOT include power steering hoses, pump or pump brackets.
*A rear sump oil pan is required with this kit.

*This Rod and Custom Front Suspension kit will not work with 14" or 15" 1965-1967 Styled Steel Wheels. The hub portion of the rotor will not fit within the wheel.

Wheel and Tire Fitment Notes:
- For optimum tire clearance CJ Pony Parts strongly recommends no wider than a 7” wheel
- A 7” wide wheel will need to have 4” to 4-1/2” of backspacing
- An 8” wide wheel is possible, but must have custom backspacing
- All 15”, 16” and 17” wheels are acceptable and recommended
- Some 14” wheels will fit with this kit, however most will not

Tech Tip: CJ Pony Parts uses Fox Body Long Tube Headers when installing this kit on 1965-1973 Mustangs with a 289, 302 or 351W engine.

While we all love the look of a classic Mustang, adding features such as disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering, and better suspension is not going to make your car safer, it's going to make it a lot more fun to drive as well. The owner of this '67 convertible has big plans for its restoration, including a late model power plant and plenty of modern necessities. The Rod & Custom front suspension was an excellent starting point. The heart of the Rod & Custom kit is this cross member here; it's going to weld to your factory frame rails by boxing them in on both sides. It includes your choice of motor mounts. For pretty much any engine you can think of, they make mounts that fit. Also includes a rack-and-pinion steering system located in the proper location to avoid bump steer, as well as everything needed to hook it up to your column.

Here we can get a better look at the rack-and-pinion assembly that's included in the Rod & Custom kit. You can see how straight the tie rod ends are making bump steer a non-issue. The kit is available in both manual or power steering; it's a same rack used on a Fox Body Mustang, making it very easy to service. All of our Rod & Custom kits are going to come with this five lug disc brake setup, including braided steel lines; it comes with tubular upper and lower control arms, the brackets for the included three quarter inch sway bar, and your choice of conventional or coil over fully adjustable shocks.
