This swap will provide you with everything you need to successfully make a conversion to a more modern power rack and pinion assembly. This package will significantly increase the performance of your classic Mustang's handling and braking, as well as help solve any clearance issues that may be associated with installation a larger modular engine.

This conversion kit is highlighted by a brand new crossmember that comes with new spindles, springs and shocks. The spindles are of factory height while the spring & shocks come with upper mounts and are rated to your vintage Pony. The mounts for your engine are complete prothane polyurethane and are specifically designed for 4.6L-5.4L modular engines, including the popular 5.0 Coyote.
This kit also includes a four piece tubular a-arm assembly that is complete with the necessary hardware you'll need. The power rack for your steering assembly features the proper bushings & mounting hardware as well.
This conversion also comes with a sway bar that is powder coated and 1" in diameter. The sway bar includes mounting brackets, end links, prothane bushings, fasteners and all other hardware. You'll also receive a steering hook-up kit that includes a new rack joint, column joint, rack-to-column shaft and a column modification kit if you have an OEM steering column.

When you purchase this kit, it is required that you know and provide the year of your Mustang, as well as its engine size. You also have the option to choose from three different brake kit options, including whether you want plain rotors or ones that are slotted and drilled. A Wilwood brake kit is also offered as an option. This specific brake option features 11" drilled & slotted two-piece vented rotors and Dynalite four piston black aluminum calipers. The calipers will let you use smaller diameter wheels.
Wheel and Tire Fitment Notes:
- For optimum tire clearance CJ Pony Parts strongly recommends no wider than a 7” wheel
- A 7” wide wheel will need to have 4” to 4-1/2” of backspacing
- An 8” wide wheel is possible, but must have custom backspacing
- All 15”, 16” and 17” wheels are acceptable and recommended
- Some 14” wheels will fit with this kit, however most will not
*This is available for V8 engines ONLY, as Rod & Custom Motorsports does not have motor mounts for the inline 6-cylinder engines.
*A rear sump oil pan is required with this kit.
Warning: This kit will NOT work with 14" or 15" 1965-1967 styled steel wheels, as the hub portion of the rotor will not fit within the wheel.
