Roush Cold Air Intake Kit EcoBoost 2.7L/3.5L F-150 2015-2016 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Roush Intake Easy to install with online video by Cj Pony Parts. It sounds better and I can feel a minor difference in power at higher RPM's. I haven't put much miles on the truck since, but I'm not seeing any improvement in MPG. Actually my gas mileage has gotten worse.

We don't keep track of the aftermarket part laws in any area, so we'd encourage you to check the list of official approved CARB parts here:

Roush Cold Air Intake Kit EcoBoost 2.7L/3.5L F-150 2015-2016 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: Even in stock form and performance the 2015 and up EcoBoost F150 is extremely impressive. Thanks to the lightweight aluminum body panels, these trucks weigh over 700 pounds less than the previous model, and with 365 horse power and 420 pounds-feet of torque these trucks are from 0 to 60 in 5,5 seconds which is really impressive for a truck that weighs over 5,000 pounds. Like the previous models, they also respond really well to basic modifications so today we are going to install this Roush performance cold air intake kit on this 2016 EcoBoost F150.

The Roush cold air intake kit will fit either the 2.7 or 3.5 liter EcoBoost in your 2015 through 2016 F150. It uses some of the factory components and adds their componentry to make it flow 25% more than the factory intake. According to Roush that's good for 28 horse power and 27 pounds-feet of torque with no tune required. It includes this high-flow filter, a 105 mm map tube, the sealed air box, and also the hardware for installation.

For this installation you need a 1/4 inch ratchet, 7 mm socket, 8 mm socket, 10 mm socket, 13 mm socket, short extension, small flathead screwdriver, and scissors.

We are going to start the installation by disconnecting the battery. Then we are going to move on removing the factory air box and the factory clean air tube. We are going to separate the air box removal by start, take these little clips off of the front here. That will separate the top from the bottom, and we are going to unbolt over here. The bottom one is a little harder to see, the cramp is like a tough one, it's coming from the side. Before you remove everything, make sure you're on the back here and turn the IAT to remove that, if not you're gonna damage it. With that out of the way, now we're going to remove the top and the tube.

Now we're going to move the lower air box which is a 3-step process. We're going to remove the bolt here to get the air box frame, remove 2 clips up here for the inlet and pull the whole thing out in one piece. Make sure that when you do that don't forget the 2 clips back here, you need to remove as well. That's for the IAT sensor, again you don't want pull it out with it attached, you could damage it. Moving to the front, we're going to remove these 2 plastic push pins. Pop it up, go underneath it and release it. Pop these clips off.

Like I mentioned before the Roush integrates really well with the factory components, so we need a few pieces of the air box for the Roush cold air kit. One is going to be the air inlet. We're also going to need this grommet on the side here. Grommet's easy to remove, just push the metal sleeve through and push the bushing out. The air inlet is held on by a single soft tap in screw. Before you put the stock air box aside, check the bottom, there's 2 rubber grommets that fit on here. They should have stayed in the truck. If they did come off on here, make sure you get them back off and put them in the stock location. Or put them on the new air box when you're installing it. Now we're going to remove the factory air silencers from each tube. Basically it's like the cheap tornadoes you see on TV designed to just kind of quiet the air down, but we're not worried about that with the cold air kit. They will simply just pop out.

Begin your installation by having the Roush cold air intake by taking the air inlet, putting that into place, and then re- installing your original screw to hold it in. Before we install the air box we're going to install the bolt and grommet we took out earlier as the air box will sit in this. Now we're going to install the air box into our truck by allowing these 2 tabs into the grommets that are down there. The other piece is going to sit right up on the end here. Make sure the inlet is seated properly sitting flat and re-install these. Push them down to hold it in place and move on to the filter. Now we'll install the filter into the housing. When you do this the filter actually has an arrow. Make sure the arrow is facing down. Then we can tighten it up. Now put the filter into place in the housing. Use the supplied bolts to bolt it to the air box. Now we're going to fish the IAT sensor over to the front where the opening is. Let's seat it properly, turn and lock it in place.

Now we're going to assemble the cold air piping with the clamps. Tighten them and clamp on the pipe side and put her on the car and clamp the other side there. Now we're ready to put it on the truck. We're going to fit the cold air pipe in. Last step is to install the seal on top of the air box. Start in the middle here and work your way around. Once we reach the end here we have to trim it to fit. Trim it, grab the supplied tube here. Last fit into place, and your installation is finished.

So the Roush intake looks the part, let's see if it sounds any different. You definitely hear a little bit more of an intake sound, and it might be I can hear the turbo a little bit louder as well. The Roush cold air intake looks great under the hood, and as you could tell when we were installing it it's definitely less restrictive than the factory intake, so it gives us some horse power and some torque as well. Installation is pretty straight forward, it should take you no more than about an hour, and you be back on the road in no time.
