Scott Drake Antenna 4" Black Billet 2010-2014 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow!!! Tore up my fingers trying to loosen the base with just the recommended T-67 bezel tool. Finally grabbed a crescent wrench and eventually unscrewed the base. Install of new base, mount and antenna - easy. Although base is tight, the mount is a tad loose. Radio reception 100% - happy for that even though I listen to satellite radio 99% of time. The look is awesome. A very stealthy black look to match my '13 V6, Lemans Black Matte striped, 'stang. Way to go Scott Drake and CJ's Pony Parts. Two thumbs up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent antenna upgrade I purchased this antenna to replace my stock 2010 antenna, which was exhibiting cracks in the base. Super easy to install, and no loss of radio signal. I used a pair of snap ring pliers with 90 degree tips, vice ordering the special installation tool, and I had no issues with either loosening or tightening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks GREAT! I figured it had to look better than the factory antenna. I was so impressed Something so small made such a big difference. Very sleek and streamline. Very nice product. It will be seen alot since the car will be a show car. Thanks!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks Good, Sounds Bad The shorty antenna looks way better than the stock one, but the reception is horrible. I'm definitely an appearance kind of guy, but this is probably coming off soon so that I can listen to more than one station.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks Good. The 4" shorty black antenna looks good compared to stock. Priced nice, easy install, but the only downside is I lose a little reception on some stations.

I have serius radio and it is all broken up. All the fm stations are alright. Would it be the antenna???

Asked by: water
They're two different antennas. The one on your trunk lid (little round, black plastic piece) is the satellite radio antenna, while the one to the right of your trunk lid is the AM/FM antenna. This product is to replace the AM/FM antenna.

Scott Drake Antenna 4" Black Billet 2010-2014 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: Today we are going to be installing a Drake muscle Car Shorty Antenna on our 2013 Mustang, Gotta Have It Race. A shorty antenna has been a popular upgrade for the '79-'09 Mustangs and are now available for the 2010 through 2013. Drake offers the antenna in two finishes, a billet finish, as well as a black finish. The antenna comes in three pieces: the base, the cover, and the mast, and Drake provides detailed instructions for installation. The only tool required for the installation is a bezel removal tool which is available from CJ Pony Parts. The part number is HW1509.

We elected to go with the black billet antenna to match the graphics on our Gotta Have It Race car. Step one for installing the antenna is to simply unthread the factory mast. Place the mast aside. Now, you want to grab your removal tool so you can remove the base of the antenna. The removal tool has four prongs on it to match up with the four holes around the base. Wind it up and turn to remove. You want to remove the metal insert from the factory base as well as the rubber sleeve in the bottom, as both parts will be used on the new antenna.

Now, you install a rubber grommet onto your new billet base. Simply stretch into place. There's a little lip that will hold it on. There are two plastic alignment valves inside the billet antenna that line up with the two slots on the original antenna itself. Now, you want to reinstall a factory sleeve to make sure the antenna doesn't fall down under the quarter panel; you can use the new mast to hold it in place. Put a couple threads in, pull the antenna up, slide the insert down over it, and begin to thread it on. So we get a few threads. You can remove the mast. Get your insert tool that you used to remove it, and thread it in, thread it on.

Now, you want to get your billet base cover and the mast, place the base cover on top, put the mast through, begin to thread it so it gets tight, turn both from about a quarter turn, and the installation is finished. The only one special tool required. This installation is pretty straightforward. It should take you no more than about 10 to 15 minutes to install your antenna. You should see no adverse effect to your radio reception whatsoever and you'll be back on the road in no time.
