Product Description

Scott Drake Backup Light Switch for 1965-1966 Mustangs with a 4-Speed Manual Transmission.

Electrical components can be a hit or miss on a classic 1967-1968 Mustang. Replace your damaged or missing backup light switch with this high quality reproduction from Scott Drake. This back up light switch gets mounted on the side of a 4-speed transmission. The switch gets activated when the reverse arm presses against the switch sending power to the reverse lights.

Scott Drake put attention to detail with this switch by zinc coating to prevent corrosion from occurring around the button and wire terminals. Scott Drake provides factory color wiring for a factory look and an easy installation.

Features:
- Zinc Coated Backup Light Switch
- Backup Light Switch Wiring Harness
- Transmission Mounting Bracket
- Proudly Made in USA

Please Note: This backup light switch will work on all 1965-1966 Mustangs that have a 4 speed manual transmission.

Scott Drake has become an iconic brand that redefines quality for reproduction and aftermarket Mustang parts for 1964 to present Mustangs, and has become the standard for OEM quality Mustang parts that offer the best fit, durability and quality. Every part is designed to look and function exactly like the original, right down to the grain pattern, stitching, welds and other tiny details that the manufacturers of standard reproductions tend to ignore.

Scott Drake Backup Light Switch 4-Speed 1965-1966 is rated 4.6667 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from not quite right. bought this for my Top loader as the original was missing including the mounting bracket, but after trying to fit it, I found the bracket seems to fit all 4 speed boxes except the top loader, which according to my restoration guide has a different mounting bracket altogether.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fit perfect Worked as described, wiring was already in the car, the switch plugged right in. Double check the type of 4 speed. Wish it came with the single bolt though to complete the work

Just installed completed install of new carpet. Will carpet have to be pulled out to run wiring from tranny to trunk

Asked by: MustangLuvr
You will not have to completely remove the carpet just enough to run the wires under the sill plate with the existing harness.

I have a 1966 coupe that had a transmission change (from an automatic to a four-speed) and I can't seem to find where the backup light switch wiring connects to the under-dash wiring.  The four speed installed did not have a back-up light switch attached.

Asked by: drgunr708
The wiring you are looking for would have been attached to the automatic transmission neutral safety switch.

Do I need to get the neutral safety switch wiring to attached the backup light switch on my 1966 coupe which had a transmission change from the automatic to the current four speed transmission or is there another wiring source?
