Product Description

Brake Light Switch for all 1965-1966 Mustangs with an Alternator or 1967-1970 Mustangs without Power Brakes.

If you are experiencing brake light issues, typically when you press the brake pedal and the lights do not activate. The first part to check is the brake light switch.

This is a high quality replacement, although it has a non-original appearance, it is more reliable than the original. It mounts to the brake pedal under the dash.

Product Questions

Will this work on a 1967 Ranchero with non power drumb brakes?

Asked by: Binder
I didn't see the Ranchero listed under the "Other Applications" section, so that means we simply don't know whether it would work or not, as we've not tested it for that application, nor has the manufacturer told us it fits.

What switch do I use on a 65 mustang which I have converted from drum front brakes to your power disk brakes conversion kit? The catalog says the HW1190 switch is only for NON power brakes.

Asked by: billinva
This one will work on 1965-1966s with power brakes, just not 1967-1970s, as long as you have an alternator.

Will this brake light switch HW1190 mount on 1964 1/2 mustang brake pedal? If so, can you give a few pointers on how to install? Thanks.

Asked by: Tbird
No, it won't work - 1964.5 Mustangs had a generator, not an alternator, so it won't work with this part.

Having trouble installing this switch. The brake light stays on and will not go out. Does anyone have a good drawing or photo of how this switch is installed?
