Magnum 500 Wheel Center Caps
First of all I have nothing but good things to say about the over all quality of the Scott Drake product and CJ Pony Parts as a whole.

This last purchase was made due to losing one Mercury Center cap on my 1968 Cyclone. The Wheels , Center Caps and new tires were Installed in the late fall of 2013. The car sees very limited use. I lost one as all for screws vibrated out of the backing plate that secures these devices.

I have two possible reccomendations for other users of the Magnum 500 Wheel with these center caps.

(1) Scott Drake would better serve it's customers by providing a screw set that once installed could be Locked into place with Safety Wire to prevent vibration or rotation backing out the screws. The would require no more than changing out the screw set with a screw head with safety wire provisioning holes in them ..and maybe a quick explanation of "How To " on safety wiring.

(2) To the End Customer or Installer ....Use Thread Locker at the very minimum on the screws when you install a Magnum 500 Center Cap.

Ford Fans can attest to the amount of cars over the history of the Magnum 500 Wheel rolling around minus the center over $130.00 for a set to replace these , when only one or two are really needed in some cases , the ability to secure these caps better from the Factory needs to be addressed in some fashion. Just because this is how we've always done it doesn't cut it. The world and man evolves hopefully , this process needs to evolve along with it.
