Can the speed of the fan be slowed for quieter running by lowering the voltage delivered to the fan?

Asked by: Murph003
I would not recommend it because it will cause overheating issues.

Hi. Has this ever been fitted to a straight six 1966 Mustang? would it fit? If sat for more than 5 mins in traffic my car will cut out from under bonnet heat. At some point I will be be swapping in a V8 and Aluminum rad, but need a solution till then!

Asked by: Rob Morton
That one only fits V8s, unfortunately, so that would be what you want after your swap. You could try this one for your straight six: http://www.cjponyparts.com/flex-a-lite-electric-fan-kit-black-magic-s-blade-15-inch-3000-cfm-universal/p/FAN23/

How much clearance is necessary between the radiator and water pump pulley for this to fit? Can you provide dimensions of the fan?
