Scott Drake Seat Belt With Tri-Bar Running Horse Emblem Pair 1965-1973 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 15581.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like them; didn't think I would but... I like them; didn't think I would but... Easy to install like all belts (for front). And these are correct length and adjustable on correct side (female). The logo ponies are nicely executed. BUT, but, but why can't CJ or Drake sell reproductions that look like the original belts. I would gladly pay more for a set that had - like the originals - the (interior matching) painted lift handles (rather than ponies), the proper male clip (one hold blade, not two hooks) and the rubberized sleeve for male-side to keep it from flopping out the door. I bought plastic sleeves (repos for a 1979 Mustang) which works to stop flopping, but not the same as tidy sleeve of original 1965, 66 models.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Buckles! I would have given these belts 5 stars because the look so good. But IMHO the belt straps themselves seem a bit on the light side. The buckles are gorgeous. They should have been used by Ford. The strap color is also good. They look very good installed in my convertible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Look For Interior I'm with the other reviewer. These should have been stock! The running mustang logo really makes the interior pop and gives a more luxurious feel. People comment on them all of the time. I bought the bright red ones and it was worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reccomended I have two pairs of the seat belts for both the front and rear. They look great, and install easy. I had to drill holes for the rear belts to install, but that was not difficult.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These should have been the stock seat belt! Title speaks for itself. I think these belts look great and how ford should have done them in the first place!

SCOTT DRAKE SEAT BELT W/ MUSTANG LOGO - PART #SBMB  $77.36 A PAIR.  WILL THESE WORK FOR BOTH FRONT AND BACK SEATS

Asked by: SIRBERIS
I used these for front of my 1965 fastback, BUT note if you want to use the original style hardware, i.e., the bolts with sleeve and shoulder, then you'll have to use a 1/2 in. drill to clear out the hole in the S.D. belt plate. For some reason, the ones I received had about 1/32 in. of extra material (chrome plating?) in the hole. That is the metal plate hole was too small for the original style sleeved bolt. (I think others had this same issue.) Once you do that, the original style bolt (which nicely allows the belt plate to rotate) will fit with the S.D. belt plate. Install in order of: care frame hole, metal washer (under carpet), metal plate w/hole, spacer washer, bolt head. CJ Pony sells the original style bolts/washers in a kit.

I have order these belts, but They don't seem to fit my 1965 Mustang coupe. The original ones had one simple screw to hold the belt, with about 1/4" near the head without thread, so that the metal part holding the belt could turn freely. Any clues?

Asked by: eRiskMan
I had the same problem. BUT if you use the original-type bolts (which have a sleeve near the bolt head), then you have (I had) to use a 1/2 in. drill to clean out the holes in the metal plate of these Drake belts. For whatever reason Drake ships these too SMALL -- i.e., with about 1/32 in. of extra material in the 1/2 in. bolt hole (probably from chroming process). After making it a 1/2 hole, the original type (sleeved & shouldered) bolt fits snugly and smoothly rotates -- install your original type bolt in order of: (a) car frame hole (where bolt inserts), (b) metal washer for bolt (under carpet, which keeps bolt sleeve from grinding into frame), (c) belt's metal plate w/hole (over carpet), (d) spacer washer, (e) bolt head. From common sense the original bolts are much better engineering -- allows belt to rotate for more comfortable fit, also allows even distribution of body's load on belt webbing if in a crash. An un-sleeved, un-shouldered, fully threaded bolt (like in the kit) does not allow belt plate to rotate -- Not as comfortable; If in a crash, the webbing likely will be at an angle (because it's fixed in place) from the force of your weight, meaning only one side of the belt webbing will take most of the decelerating weight of your body. Use your own judgment though! CJ Pony sells these original-type bolts.

do you have for sale the rear seat belts for fastback?

Asked by: double00768fastback
I did not use these Drake belts, but I found that almost all belts were too long for backseat of my 65 fastback. I used a BSC, a belt shortening clip, one for each side, to shorten the belt. BUT be sure to get that and not a retaining clip, a retaining clip WILL break in a crash; only use an BSC. Ford dealers sell one (part no. F03Z-5461249-A), but I found it easier to order from a Toyota dealer (same simple part, no. 73119-22010). Use your own judgment!

Scott Drake Seat Belt With Tri-Bar Running Horse Emblem Pair 1965-1973 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: Of the thousands of products we currently carry here at CJ's, the manufacturer customers usually ask for by name most is Scott Drake.

For over 30 years Scott Drake has produced high-quality Ford-licensed restoration parts for your Mustang.

Starting off with the Trunk Weatherstrip he made while still in high school for a shop teacher, today Scott Drake offers over 9,000 products making them the largest manufacturer of Mustang restoration parts around.

Currently based in Henderson, Nevada, just outside of Las Vegas, Scott Drake is expanding his restoration line to include late model Mustang parts under the Drake Muscle Cars name.

Today let's take a closer look at some of their products and the attention to detail Scott Drake puts into them. Today we're going to be installing a set of these Scott Drake seatbelts in our '67 Mustang Convertible. Seatbelts are available in all the original colors and will fit both the front and back of your '64 through '73 Mustang. All of their seatbelts feature a chrome vintage style buckle with the running horse emblem. All of the hardware needed for installation is also included. Our chrome buckles with pony emblems are a nice visual upgrade to the interior and look much better than our original faded seatbelts did.

In our case our factory hardware was in good shape, so we used that as well. Scott Drake does provide new anchors in case yours are damaged. Either way, installation should take no more than about 30 minutes.

So if you're looking for the best fitting, highest quality parts for either your restoration or your late model Mustang make sure you check out our selection of Scott Drake products.
