Pair of Traction Bars for all 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970 Mustangs.Have you started to experience erratic deceleration and leaf spring unwrapping when powerfully braking? How about wheel hop when launching off the line in your 1967-1970 Mustang? If your suspension bushings are not weak and flexing too much and the suspension arms are noticeably rigid, this Pair of Traction Bars are something you need to have installed on your favorite Mustang without hesitation!
The wheels in your Mustang are not rigidly fixed to the chassis, so when the ground pushes on the wheels, they move slightly forward in the wheel well. If the toe of the driven wheels changes during acceleration, the grip of the tire must also be changing and wheel hop is a result of this change in grip.
These bars are "axle locating" devices designed to reduce axle windup during hard braking and wheel hop during extreme acceleration. This Pair of Traction Bars for all 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970 Mustangs bolt onto the stock U-bolt plates in the rear and weld on to the frame in the front. The mounting plate bolt holes measure 2-7/8" apart and mount directly over the axle.
These traction bars were original equipment on the 1966 Shelby GT350. They greatly reduce wheel hop and improve acceleration in any high horsepower 1967-1970 Mustang. These traction bars reduce axle wind-up and wheel hop during hard braking and rapid acceleration by securing the rear axle to the car with more than just the leaf springs. This translates to improved traction and braking, providing you with a smoother overall ride, during both extreme accelerations and abrupt, hard decelerations.
