Bill from CJ's with Scott Drake, here to tell us a little bit about his Styled Steel Wheel.
Scott Drake: Hi, Bill. This is our '64-'73 styled steel wheel. We've been making them for about 10 years. It's all made in the United States. We do a lot of machining right there in Henderson, Nevada. These parts are stamped in Southern California. It starts out, there's a 10-step process. These dies are huge. They're the size of two refrigerators put together, and there's 10 of them. So there's a blanking die, and a forming die. Because they can only draw this much deep material so far until it actually breaks. It's a very special type of steel. It's a hydraulic process that pushes that material and makes it that deep. Talking a little bit more about the details of the wheel. We at Scott Drake never copy a copy. We copy from an old original sample that we find, or several, once we verify one sample matches another, or the actual Ford print. If you look at the original samples, they have a high crest right here. They have a flat face. They have an index here. The paint color is, we did a lot of research on pain color, and this is the right paint color as well. It's a water-soluble paint that we bake on. If there is a mistake, we can't even send this back to the chrome shop to have it stripped because it strips the chrome before it strips the paint. That's how tough this paint is. Very happy with this product. Very proud of this product. It's stock original sizes. On the back side, the original Fords were riveted. We have simulated rivets, because this wheel is all welded together. I think it's the best styled steel wheel on the market. It's lug concentric balanced, which is very important. You cannot use a cone style balancer and stick it in this hole, because this hole is not concentric with these five lug holes. That's very important feature. Ask for Scott Drake. It's the best wheel out there in the industry. If you're not happy with it, we're happy to exchange it for you. Thank you.
