Economy Shaker Assembly for 1969-1970 Mustangs with a 289, 302 or 351 Cleveland Small Block Engine.
Add aggressive looks and performance to your 1969-1970 Mustang with the addition of the all new Economy Shaker Assembly! This Economy Shaker Assembly is designed to bolt up to any 1969-1970 Mustang equipped with a 289, 302 or 351 Cleveland small block engine.
Economy Shaker Assembly Includes:
- Fiberglass Base
- Fiberglass Mid Plate
- Air Cleaner Element with Chrome Lid
- Rubber Hood Seal with Drain Tube
- Shaker Scoop
The new Fiberglass Base is painted blue to resemble the factory base. Correct studs are molded to the base and nuts are included for mounting the base to the mid plate. With the Fiberglass Base comes the addition of a Snorkel Delete Plate, which is also painted blue. However, a snorkel hole is not cut into the Fiberglass Base.
The Fiberglass Mid Plate is painted black and does not come with holes pre-drilled for attachment to the Fiberglass Base.
Taking in the cool, fresh air is a beautiful Air Cleaner assembly that comes with a new air filter element and a gorgeous chrome lid that sits inside the Fiberglass Base.
Keeping a water tight seal around the Shaker is important to keep water out of the engine bay. That's why this assembly includes a Rubber Hood Seal that comes with a Drain Tube to allow excess water to escape.
The Shaker Scoop features a stealth looking matte black finish, as opposed to the factory correct semi-gloss black finish with silver painted fins on top. On the bottom of the Shaker Scoop, holes are not pre-drilled to attach the scoop to the mid plate.
Install this reproduction shaker assembly and you will be grinning from ear to ear every time you take a drive. Not only will you improve the look of your Mustang but also the performance as the engine will breath cool air from outside the engine bay!

Please Note: If you are installing this shaker system and need to cut your hood, CJ Pony Parts offers templates to make sure your first cut is the right cut. CJ Pony Parts also offers new hoods that already have the shaker hole cut out for peace of mind.
Tech Tip: This Small Block Shaker Assembly may require a taller than stock intake manifold or a taller air cleaner to properly fit on a 289/302 engine. High rise intakes may require the Big Block Shaker Assembly which is about 1/2" shorter.

Greetings, would like to know if the small block model will fit 302 with rmp intake on a '68? n Never seen one but looks like the hood structure was made for it! Have you any info on that? Also was wondering if you have a template for layout.
Have you ever had anyone install one on a 66-77 Classic Ford Bronco with a 302? Is it possible? Do you have a dimension from the ring mount of the carb to the closed hood surface. And what carb ring diameter opening is it?
Could you put a shaker on a 65 fastback hood?
I was thinking of adding the hood scoop kit (Shaker Assembly Economy 289/302/351C Small Block 1969-1970) on my mustang. In the video you mention that the Scott Drake Shaker Hood Scoop Spacer Plate 1969-1970 is not included. Is this a necessary part?
will an HEI distributer cause clearance issues with this or would I have to change to a different distributer?

This is the high-rise version here that's designed to work with small block Ford in any '69 through '70 Mustang. Both the small block and big block version include the air cleaner assembly with the filter, a fiberglass baseplate, the plenum which would be drilled to fit the baseplate, drain, the fiberglass scoop, and the necessary seal.
