Shift Knob 2-1/8" White With Black Shift Pattern And 50 Years Logo 6-Speed 2015-2017 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Painted Shift Pattern Not Aligned Properly Knob arrived promptly, packaged very well. But on inspection the painted shift pattern isn't aligned incorrectly. The '3' & '4' gears are placed closer to the '5' & '6' gears than the 'R' '1' & '2' gears are. Or, 'R' & the 1 & 2 gears are farther to the left in the painted-on pattern than 5 & 6. Make sense? Look at the illustration carefully. You can see it there. Not an evenly spaced shift pattern. The OEM knob has all the gears spaced the same. Not an accurate reproduction. For $85 it should be perfect. Not sure whether I'll send it back or use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Contrast to a Black Interior I installed this 50 Years shift knob the first weekend I had my new Mustang. I like the subtle 50 Years logo and the stark contrast of this knob against the all black ebony interior. It looks great, feels great, and was easy to install. Including a dry test fit before applying the thread locking fluid, the entire installation took less than three minutes (although it does require some time for the Loctite to cure before driving). As usual, CJPP goes above and beyond and includes a tube of Loctite in the package.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old school looks that fits the new school shifter Gives the interior that old school look. Simple installation, no adapter required. Great size (a bit bigger than stock) and doesn't get overly hot in summer heat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glitz!! I purchased the shift knob white with black shift pattern and it complements the interior, very pleased with it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid shifts I have to say I got the shift knob for a little old school look inside the car. The difference in the diameter of the original and the 50 year knob was surprising. I don't have small hands and this shift knob gives me something a lot more meaty to throw my baby through the gears with. It's hollowed out in the bottom so it covers the reverse lift gate without a big bulky adapter and it looks bad with the console. I would diffidently recommend this shift knob.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality and easy install Upgrading a shift knob in a new car seemed silly but I always wanted an old school shift knob and I absolutely hated the stock one. I am so glad I bought this! I like how the 50 years design is specific to my 2015 but subtle enough not to be obnoxious. It is slightly larger than the OEM, which is awesome and it feels like a quality product. It was easy to install....8.5 turns puts it in perfect position.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks nice and super easy install. The install took about 2 minutes. Take off the old one and follow the video instructions which were very good. My only complaint is that the font on the shift pattern should be a bit fatter IMO. Not that it's bad, but it just seems a bit skinny for the shifter ball. Otherwise it's very nice, but if you have sweaty hands like myself it can be a bit slippery to hold.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Quality To Be Found Here I purchased this knob because of the "50 Years" logo. It's appearance was not a problem. The fit and finish however, there isn't a rating low enough I could give this. This knob cracked after just 45 shifts. Fine for a show piece maybe, but stay far away if you intend to do any performance driving with this knob.

Product Questions

Does the Knob gets hot when the car stays out during summer??

Asked by: Fefe
I live in Texas , and I will say that while it get warm, it is much cooler than the metal like insert on the top of the OEM knob. (and cooler than my steering wheel)

How easy is it to unscrew the shift knob (if I want a new knob or decide to revert to stock to sell the car) after applying the Loctite?

Asked by: Benanderson89
It depends on how much lock tight is used, use to much and it will be difficult to remove. I would start with a couple of drops and see how well it holds.

Is it available in colors (orange) with black print?

Asked by: hurstshifter
No, it's only available in black or white with the opposite color for print.

The painted gear numbers don't line up. That '6' gear number is dangling off the pattern, drooping down diagonally. The '4' gear number is lower than the '2'. The shift pattern lines are not aligned evenly. What gives?

Asked by: HarleyFrank
I suspect the knob we used for photos was a prototype. If you look at the installed photos in our video and from other customers, you'll see that the numbers line up much better.

Shift Knob 2-1/8" White With Black Shift Pattern And 50 Years Logo 6-Speed 2015-2017 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: We’re here with a custom 50th anniversary shift knob fitting all 2015 stick shift Mustangs, available exclusively here at CJ Pony Parts.

This classic eight ball-style shift knob has the 50 year logo embossed on both sides of the shifter, along with a six-speed pattern on top. This shift knob is going to be a direct replacement for your factory knob, and the only thing necessary for installation is going to be the included Loctite.

I'm going to start by putting the Mustang in reverse; that's going to make the installation easiest. Grab the factory shift knob, turning counter-clockwise. I'm going to put some Loctite on the threads. I'll take the new shift knob and line it up. What you'll want to do, basically thread it down into place until it gets tight, which is going to be pretty much at the bottom. Then you do one rotation up. That gives you plenty of clearance with reverse lockout. Once you get it nice and straight basically what you do now is just let it set. The Loctite will usually get pretty tight within honestly a half hour to an hour. If you let it sit overnight that's going to be even better, and you're ready to go.

This custom shift knob is a great way to finish off your 50-year package, and it makes an excellent upgrade for any 2015 Mustang.
