There are a few telltale signs that you need a new speedometer cable on your classic 1967-1968 Mustang. For example, as you accelerate or decelerate, does the speedometer move smoothly up and down? Or does it behave erratically, seemingly with no rhyme or reason? Or maybe there's a more obvious sign: your Mustang's factory speedometer cable is frayed, broken or even missing! No matter what your reason is for needing a new cable, check out this Concours Speedometer Cable from CJ Pony Parts!
This Concours Speedometer Cable is meant to be used on 1967-1968 Mustangs that have a 4-speed transmission. It's an exact reproduction that features the correct sponge-rubber firewall seal. It also has a threaded end that connects to the back of the speedometer and a metal portion that's crimped onto the cable at the transmission end. The speedo gear clips onto this and get an O-ring for sealing. This Concours Speedometer Cable has a retaining bracket that's incorporated on the cable that bolts to the transmission and holds the gear in the transmission.
