Product Description

Steeda Extreme G-Trac K-Member Brace for all 2015, 2016 and 2017 Mustangs.

The Extreme G-Trac Brace, also known as a K-Member Brace, is a direct bolt-on addition to your 2015-2017 Mustang and provides greatly improved front chassis stiffening. This revolutionary G-Trac Brace was developed by Steeda to help reinforce the K-member and help maintain proper suspension geometry in Max-G cornering!

Steeda has designed the Extreme G-Trac Brace to mount as close to the control arm mounts as possible. This helps strengthen the connection between the control arm mounts and the rear of the sub frame. This makes the load path more direct, and gives much more effective chassis stiffening. Achieving this ensures the suspension geometry doesn't change during situations that may call for high speed cornering and increased chassis loads.

Features and Benefits:
- Easy Bolt-In Installation
- Constructed from Chrome Moly Steel
- Improves Stiffness Front Suspension Components
- Reinforces K-Member and Control Arm Mounts
- Includes All Necessary Hardware and Instructions

Steeda Extreme G-Trac K-Member Brace 2015-2017 is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works I have now installed this on my 15 PP GT. The build quality is high and it does seam to help, on my car. I had some real trouble with the install, as on my car the subframe rails were really dimpled from the pressed holes. Additionally the plugs were still inside which made installation extremely difficult. This is in no way Steeda's fault. So it dosent change my rating. However the instructions were not very good as my car also didn't have the threaded nut from the factory. Steeda should better clarify the aluminium spacer placement for those situations in their instructions. Still a good part well worth the money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy install, but takes patience. The install is straightforward. You'll need a 22mm socket, wrench, a T60 torx, and a torque wrench. The only challenging part is getting the spacers for the rear bolts in place. It took me quite a few tries to get them lined up since the holes they go between are stamped into the frame member. Fit, finish and packaging were great. I don't really have enough tire under the car to test performance yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There's always a little trick Install went fine once I figured out the holes where the spacers were going were stamped out during production. Not sure if everyone will find this but, the steel tabs were still in the frame making it impossible to get the spacers in. Once I figured what it was, breaking them off with a screw driver was a snap... No pun intended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great This is a very easy install, and is a quality product from Steeda... I would not be with out this, on your 2015 Mustang......

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helps tighten the front of the car I've had the brace installed now for a couple of weeks. The improvement to the overall car "feel" is subtle, but it's there. Installation didn't go quite as I would have liked. The spacers had to be ground down to allow me to place them in the correct position. I don't know why my 2015 is different, but it is.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well designed and fit great After install did notice less twist in cornering and we'll built

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great initial mod The chassis can use a bit more stiffening from the factory, even on the PP cars. This brace helps augment the K-member and complements the strut tower bracing in tightening up the front end. I would recommend this brace as a foundation before you get too far into suspension mods to further reduce chassis movement. many cases this brace will not simply fall into place as these cars have some wide tolerances. I had to muscle it in place which can be difficult when the car is on jack stands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I have this installed on my 2015 GT PP and it works great. I can't comment on how this part alone would affect the overall ride, but when paired with lowering springs and the Steeda IRS rear subframe braces, it is amazing. After the lowering springs, the car cornered better but was still "loose." I then installed the rear subframe braces and they tightened up the rear end a lot, though the front was still lacking. I then installed this K brace and it really brought everything together. The car handles great in corners and just feels much tighter overall. Highly recommend.

Will this fit the performance pack gt with the factory K brace?

Asked by: BlueGT
Yes. The brace that you speak of is a cowl brace that is found in the engine bay. It connects the cowl to the strut towers. This brace mounts underneath the vehicle and adds support for the K-Member.

I installed the brace, however the aluminum spacers they gave me to use in the front under the nut did not allow for enough space.  Are the spacers necessary?  Otherwise fit seems good and wasn't much trouble to install.  Thx

Asked by: Cory1
The aluminum spacers are only necessary if your Mustang doesn't have the factory threaded holes.

I have the Equipment Package 201A with he Factory 20" wheels  My question is from an improved ride characteristics would I be best served adding the G Trac brace or the 2015 MUSTANG GT STRUT TOWER BRACE M-20201-M?

Asked by: Robtaz
Both would offer benefits, but could work hand in hand to significantly strengthen the front suspension.

Steeda Extreme G-Trac K-Member Brace 2015-2017 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: So far as far as suspension mods go I've added Steeda's sports springs and their anti-roll bar front/rear sway bar kit to my 2015 Mustang GT. I got to admit I'm really happy with the ride. The ride with the sports springs is perfect and ride quality didn't suffer at all. The car overall feels a lot tighter.

So speaking with Steeda about what the next step was. Since I can't put their strut brace on because of my super charger I wanted to still tighten up the front suspension. They recommended their Extreme G-Trac brace.

So today we're going to install one on my 2015 Mustang GT. The Extreme G-Trac brace is make of chrome moly steel and is made in the USA by Steeda. The brace is going to basically tie in your lower sub-frame and strengthen it by putting a cross bar and then tie in four mounting points, which is going to stiffen up the control arms and the entire sub-frame of the car to make the front end much tighter. Basically, you are tying in the bottom instead of tying in the top when you go with a strut brace. Now if you do have room for a strut brace I do suggest adding it because that's going to tie the entire front end of the car together. But in my case I can't go with one so we're going with the G-Trac Extreme.

For this installation I'm going to need a lift and a jack or jack stands, 1/2" ratchet, 22 mm socket, 22 mm wrench, T60 Torx or 12 mm Allen key, Torque wrench, and cutting pliers.

The extreme G-Trac brace is going to brace what's probably the weakest part of your factory sub-frame, these two long arms here that come back to your floors. The way the brace works: it's going to mount here and here, give us a bar straight across to support these, and then it's going to come over and then go over here and bolt to the media part of the sub-frame underneath your engine.

The brace is going to mount on the smaller hole here on the outside corner of your sub-frame going towards the floor. They include these spacers. The spacer is going to go in the larger hole here. Basically use this and sort of fish it back into place. And then do the same on the other side.

Now put the brace up into place. Bolt through and put the nut on top. Do the same on the other side.

This applied front hardware is going to go up through here, up into this opening here. It is actually threaded at the top. So make sure you have it lined up properly; this will thread in.

We're going to go back through and tighten every thing down. The front bolts are going to take a 12 mm Allen Key, which is probably a socket or Allen Key a lot of you aren't going to have in your home tool box. If you don't, what you can do is grab a bolt head that will fit up in there, torque a nut on the bottom, and that will allow you to tighten it up.

Torque specs for the rear bolts and front bolts is between 55 and 60 foot-pound.

Once you're finished you can either leave these here or you can cut them off.

Steeda has been selling the G-Trac brace for years for other models. It's always done a great job and it also does the same thing on the 2015 Mustang. As you saw the installation is pretty simple as well. Probably take you around half and hour and you'll be back on the road in no time.
