Steeda crafts these vertical links from 6061 aircraft grade billet aluminum for more strength & long term durability. They also include CNC machine delrin bushings along with billet steel bushing sleeves & spacers for a much lighter, yet stronger performance. The bushings will provide less deflection than the stock ones, but will not increase any noise or NVH like other bushings will.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Different Maker Already had the k member brace and subframe braces, added the subframe bushings along with the sport linear springs, and finally these verticals links and wow what a difference. Much smoother, feels planted , much better when shifting hard, no nose dive and less bouncy. I think in regards to eliminating wheel hop,out of all the components installed, these were the difference maker. The bottom bolt is a pain to lineup , but what a difference. The only item not on my car are the rear toe links , don't know how much difference it would make but overall very happy with the result as a whole package.

Is an alignment needed after install?

This part will not affect your alignment but it is a good idea to have it checked whenever a suspension part is replaced.

Why 6061 and not a more rigid alloy, such as 7075-T-6 ? 6061 makes sense if it was anodized which it isn't. This fine part won't look good anymore after a year. And a 7075 could be hard anodized, though which would be perfect.

That was a manufacturer decision, not ours. We're only able to sell what they offer us. That being said, we're confident this part will last a long time and look great doing it. We've not heard a complaint from any customer.

By Bill Tumas: When it was announced that the 2015 Mustang was going to have an independent rear suspension, many straight line racers including myself were worried about wheel hop. Wheel hop is commonly caused in an IRS car because of the flex and the components that are installed. One issue that causes a lot of problem with the 2015 is the soft rear vertical lanes align the rear suspension to move back and forth. Fixing that problem is definitely a good way to combat wheel hop. Today, we're going to install Steeda's Billet Vertical Links on Yassen’s 2015 Mustang GT. The factory steel vertical links use rubber bushings and have a lot of flex causing issues, the Steeda unit here is made in the USA of high quality 6061 billet aluminum making it much stronger than the factory one. Also uses heavy heavy duty delrin bushings which will give you a little bit of flex and you won't have increased noise and vibration, but they'll be a lot stronger than factory which will definitely help with our wheel hop.

For this installation you'll be needing a lift and a pole jack or a jack and jack stands, 1/2" ratchet, 15 millimeter socket, 18 millimeter socket, torque wrench, and a hammer.

The vertical link's located right here, basically inside the rear brake rotor. Start the installation and get the car up off the ground and support the rear suspension. The link's located right here, it's held in place by a bolt at the bottom and a bolt and nut up top. We're going to start by removing the bottom bolt. Here we can see the factory stamped steel vertical link versus the Steeda. Huge, huge difference in build quality, much better quality bushings, CNC machinings, an overall better piece. Before we install the vertical link, you want to liberally apply the included grease on both sides of the delrin bushings before installing the washer. It's going to install with the washers we just installed facing downward. The CNC machined part here is going to go into the knuckle. We may need to just lightly tap it into place.

Put the upper bolt in first and get it hand tight. We're going to use our jack to get it up into place so we can install the lower. Once we're tight we're going to torque them to spec. On the video it's going to look like this bolt goes in pretty easily, if you're lucky it may line up, if it doesn't, use a pry bar from the bottom, put it where this bolt is here, and if you pull against that, that'll twist this just enough to make this bolt line up easier. You're going to torque the bottom bolt to 129 foot pounds. You're going to torque your top bolt to 76 foot pounds. Repeat the process on the other side and your installation's finished.

The Steeda Billet Vertical Links are a great first step in getting rid of the wheel hop issues with the 2015 Mustang. The installation's fairly straightforward, the bottom bolt can be a little bit of pain, but overall it should take you around an hour from start to finish. You'll be back on the road in no time.
