Steeda Sound Symposer Delete Kit Focus ST 2013-2016 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 415.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, straightforward. Pretty much the most basic mod available. It took me about 10 minutes to install it, because I have giant hands and couldn't get them to pull off the wiring harness. Someone with normal sized paws could have this done in five minutes, easily. The only issue I had is that the zip tie was a bit too short for me to use, but that's a very, very minor issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EASY INSTALL EASY INSTALL! One of the cheaper delete kits out there. Cleans up the engine bay nicely. 5 stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised I didn't do this sooner!! I did a resonator delete and couldn't hear it over the symposer noises when I was in the car. I've had this installed for over two weeks now and I love the results. All I hear now is pure exhaust noise, which means it sounds way better. Plus it really does clean up the look up the engine bay a bit without the tubes & pieces there. Buy it now!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Focus ST (2015) Symposer Delete by Steeda Received during the week of Jan/10-15/2016...Installed on Jan/16. Less than 1 hour. Remove lower symposer unit first. Disconnect sound tubes from lower unit and upper unit (attached to battery box) to facilitate full deinstall...careful removing upper unit. Had to tap in firewall closure cap with heavy screwdriver and rubber mallet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Review by LVThundercat I added this to my ST after I did a resonator delete hoping it wold quiet down the drone while cruising at 3K rpms or higher. It did exactly what I needed it to do. No more drone. Excellent price, well built, fast free shipping. A must have if you did a res delete / muffler delete / both or when you have a CBE installed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The easiest install ever!! I bought this because I was tired of hearing the 3000 rpm drone!! It's gone now!! I get to enjoy my cold air and intake tube and exhaust sound now! This kit comes with the tube plug and zip tie. Get this kit! It's the best kit for the money!! Plus it cleans up the engine bay! Thanks Steeda and CJPonyparts!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple install. NIce results Put this on in under 10 minutes. What a difference. I would say 30 to 40 percent quieter in the cabin. Almost eliminated the drone around 3000rpms. Tremendous bang for the buck with this. It won't make the car any faster but it will make it much more fun to drive, at least in my opinion

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great easy mod Super easy to install and it really opens up that space under the hood. So much plastic and tubing for what? Some sound in the cabin? I can still hear the engine and will hear more with exhaust and an intake. Picked Steeda because of the o ring and clip for the firewall.

Product Questions

I have seen 2 different delete kits from Steeda one with a port one without the port what's the difference and which do you recommend and why.

Asked by: JHH59
The ported one gives you the option of tapping into the intake manifold for a boost or vacuum connection. I would recommend the ported one, it also comes with a plug to block off the port.

I have a kit already on my car but I do not have the fire wall plug, it was lost somehow. But anyways would you just sell the plug? Or would you know who or where?

Asked by: Kopal623
We do not sell the plug separately or have replacement parts for this kit. Please contact Steeda (1-800-950-0774) directly and let them know where you purchased the kit and they should be able to help you out.

Will this void the warranty?

Asked by: Ratler123
No, it won't. Read up on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act to understand fully why.

Steeda Sound Symposer Delete Kit Focus ST 2013-2016 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: Today, we're going to show you how to delete the active sound symposer found on your 2013 through 2014 Focus ST. The sound symposer mounts to your front of the engine, and it's a tube that runs back to your interior. The main purpose is to transmit the engine sounds into the interior to enhance the driving experience. While this is kind of cool on a stock Focus, once you modify it, it's pretty much useless. It just clutters up your engine bay. Today, we're going to show you how to delete using a delete kit from Steeda.

The delete kit is pretty simple. It comes with a plate that goes on the engine side, an O-ring installed using factory hardware, a plug for the interior side, and a zip tie to tie the harness out of the way.

We'll start the install by removing the engine cover, give us a little more room to work. We'll start by removing the sound symposer tube from the engine side. Simply pull it off. It'll pop right off. Now, we'll remove the actual symposer itself from the front of the engine. There's 3 bolts that hold it on, 1 facing outward, and 2 here facing down. A small wrench is probably the easiest thing to get in there. Remove the symposer.

The block-off plates get installed where the symposer was facing upward. Make sure you have the O-ring going up into the intake. Now, we can remove the rest of the symposer tubing, as well as the valve. We're going to start by removing the battery cover here, again, give us a little more room to get down to the side. Disconnect the tubing from the valve and just pull it off. Pull it out from the CAL side. Now, we'll install the supplied plug under the CAL on the cabin side. The symposer valve's connected to the side of the battery box with 1 little Torx screw right here. You want to get up high enough so you can reach the harness here, so you can disconnect it.

You want to grab the harness for the sound symposer and just zip tie it up out of the way. Where it's going to land down there, it's going to be pretty close to your shift linkage. You don't want that getting in the way of that, so we're just going to tie it off, so it's safely out of the way. We can reinstall our battery cover, and then reinstall our engine cover, and our installation's finished.
