Subframe connectors help put more power to the ground by reducing chassis flex. When stepping on the gas pedal, engine torque will be instantly transmitted to the rear end, rather than lost through flexing of the unibody. This is especially noticeable during drag race launches.

Which brand subframe connector would fit a 91 convertible without any additional fabrigation? In several of the descriptions they say they need modification.

Usually with a convertible, modification of the rocker brackets is necessary because you will be welding the subframe connectors to where the brackets are riveted to the frame.
