Sway Bar Front 1" Complete Kit 1967-1970

Product Description

1" Front Sway Bar Kit with Polyurethane Bushings and Grommets for all 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970 Mustangs.

Your Mustang's stock suspension does an adequate job in normal, predictable conditions and maneuvers. Where you may run into a problem, is when you need to make a sudden lane change to avoid an accident or when you find that curve in the road is a little sharper than you thought. As your vehicle begins to turn, the body will roll, Inch transferring weight to the outside wheels. This causes the front end to plow Inch, or what is technically known as understeer. The result: Your vehicle wants to keep going straight and you're now out of control.

This 1" Front Sway Bar Kit with Polyurethane Bushings and Grommets will bolt directly in place underneath of your Mustang and reinforce and balance your suspension and give you more control. This quality sway bar is made from high carbon steel and is hardened and stress-relieved with forged & countersunk eyelets to give your suspension superior support during sudden or sharp turns. With the addition of this anti-sway bar, body roll and understeer will be greatly reduced.

Front Sway Bar Kit Includes:
- Front Sway Bar: 1" high carbon steel with hot forged ends and cadmium plating
- Bushings: black polyurethane
- Attaching Hardware
- Gloss black finish.

This sway bar is a direct replacement for the thin, weaker factory Ford sway bars. This kit includes polyurethane mounting bushings and links with polyurethane grommets. This ensures long life of your bushings and hardware and a sharp suspension performance increase. The included hardware consists of heat treated 5,000 lb. end-link bolts, zinc chromate coated brackets, double beveled polyurethane bushings and plated, cupped washers. You can reduce under steering, body roll and altogether sloppy handling, by adding rigidity with this great 1" Front Sway Bar Kit with Polyurethane Bushings and Grommets for all 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970 Mustangs.

*Will NOT fit 1967-1970 Big Block Mustangs due to oil filter clearance, use FSB2A.

Good Product
Once you extend the slots in the bush retaining brackets to fit the body mounting holes this all fits easily together.

You can't buy a better bar than addco, I've put in a bunch of these and never had an issue. I got the 1" bar for my 68 Knowing this is a much larger bar than stock I test fit the frame bushings first, way too tight those 3/8" holes don't make it, If you have one use a 7/16 reamer & enlarge all 4 holes(use the 3/8 bolts after enlargement) If not a step drill bit will work but don't go too far use a file or a 3/8 drill bit to enlarge the top side of the hole, now your bolts go in staight & you assemble, put your A arm links in loose, drop the car to the ground all the way!(yes ya gotta crawl) then tighten the links only until the bushings start to bulge. doing this will keep your alignment correct as well as feel on the wheel. my install went smooth I hope yours does too

handling and install
During the install it becomes painfully obvious that on a 67 289 the frame brackets aren't equipped with the proper size hole slots to attach to the frame

the installation actually bends the brackets ever so slightly leaving the bolts at an angle once fully tightened

but this minor difficulty is out weighed in my mind by the feel of the new sway bar compared to the stock 11/16'' mine was equipped with

buy it. its worth it.
