Bill: Today, we are taking a look at some ways to upgrade your Mustang’s interior using premium products from one of our more popular vendors, TMI. TMI has been an industry leader for over 30 years, producing interior products for your ’64 through 2013 Mustang. Today, we have a special guest in our studio, TMI sales manager Waylon Crumrie. Waylon, thanks for coming.

Waylon: Thanks for having me Bill.

Bill: I’m sure that you get this a lot, but what does TMI stand for?

Waylon: TMI was founded in 1982 by four brothers whose last name is Tuccinardi. You get Tuccinardi Manufacturing Incorporated.

Bill: How did you get in to the Mustang market?

Waylon: Originally we started doing Volkswagen interiors, but we quickly saw the market demand for high-quality premium Mustang upholstery and so we have been doing that now for about 25 years.

Bill: Where do you manufacture your products?

Waylon: We manufacture in Corona, California, where we have about 140,000 square feet and nearly 200 employees who do 100% of our manufacturing right here in the U.S.A.

Bill: I hear that you have some new products for us today?

Waylon: I sure do. Do you want to take a look?

Bill: Sounds good. Early Mustang’s have never been known for their storage space. Even if you got the factory console, it still left a lot to be desired. Aftermarket consoles, such as these from TMI, have been popular for years. Waylon, what can you tell me about these two models?

Waylon: What I brought with me today is our standard and deluxe consoles for the ’64 to ’73 Mustang. A standard console comes in a solid color whereas the deluxe is available in a two-tone or a solid option and it does obviously has a nice chrome accent strip that runs around the edge. I do want to go in to a little bit more detail to show that the premium quality in which these consoles are constructed. I want to point out the French seam that runs down here. It is a nice durable French seam on both sides of the armrest. You open it up and you notice you have a section for your map pocket and there is a lot of storage space and it is nicely carpeted. One of the nice things about these consoles is how easily they install. There is no hardware required. They simply Velcro down to the cars carpet which allows for not only an easy installation but also an easy removal in case you want to put your valuables in here. You can always take it and put it in the trunk or remove it for a car show.

Bill: Even if you have a factory console in the car, these are still a nice affordable upgrade. Waylon, what models are these available for?

Waylon: We make our console to fit the ’64 to ’73 Mustang without a factory console. If you do have a factory console from ’64 to ’68 we have another version that is cut out on the bottom and slides right over that factory console.
