This Rack and Pinion Conversion from Total Control Products contains high-quality components that are combined together with a unique modular design that will successfully convert your Mustang to have a more comfortable drive through a rack and pinion power steering assembly. This setup features straight cut gears, as well as straight length steel tubing that is 20% larger in diameter than the original.

As the rack and pinion conversion is less at-risk to any wear and tear, it will reduce any sliding action which will provide an increase in the direct steering of your classic Mustang. Not only will you have more control of your Pony, but you'll see an increase in compression and torsion as well. This conversion from TCP will also use that proper steering geometry so you can enjoy a quick ratio on your Pony. This will provide fewer turns with only three in total for a complete lock-to-lock turning radius. Still utilizing the factory turning system, you'll be able to get a faster steering response out of your tires.

The positioning of this rack and pinion conversion helps to provide more header clearance than an OEM-style rack. Total Control Products offers the most available room for these conversions, while also not decreasing any ground clearance. This rack takes the place of the factory tubular crossmember at the rear of the oil pan, to maximize ground clearance. Replacing the stock crossmember also allows you to join the vertical and horizontal mounting planes through the rack, which improves the consistency of the lower-control-arm suspension and inner-tie rod steering.

The unique design utilizes an assortment of mounting brackets and hardware to adapt to your Mustang to provide as easy of an installation as possible. These brackets are specific to the engine type, using to vary the height of the rack as needed for oil pan clearance. Existing factory mounting locations are used whenever possible, and once installed, the rack becomes a rigid cross-member bracing the lower control arm mounts; an improvement over the original bent tubular design.

Warning: Installation of this Rack and Pinion Conversion requires V8 Spindles and Tie-Rods.

*This rack and pinion conversion will also fit a 1967-1969 Mustang with a 6-Cylinder Engine.

Does this kit come with power steering box and tie rod ends?

This kit does not require a power steering box, you will still need a power steering pump though. The tie rod ends are not included, you can purchase part number TCPTIER09.
