Transmission Filter and Gasket Kit C4 1965-1969 is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't fit Bought this for a 67 coupe with a c4. Pulled cover to replace and bolt holes on this don't line up. It's also missing the tab to hold a small spring into the valve body. Not sure if previous owner changed tranny or what all markings on it indicate a c4?

i have a 1966 mustang coup with a 289 an cruisematic transmission, how do I tell if it is a c4

Asked by: pablo57
It's likely you have a C4 if you have a 289, but there are a number of visual differences between the two that would help you identify. The biggest visual difference is that a C4 is two separate pieces, while the heavier duty C6 is one large casting.
