To get it ready for its pacing duties, the Hurst Mustang has a number of notable upgrades, including:
Engine: The GT’s stock V8 has been augmented with the addition of a Roush supercharger, which boosts the engine’s output to 435 horses and over 400 foot-pounds of torque.
Exhaust: To complement the upgraded engine, the Hurst Mustang also features a stainless steel, custom-tuned Magnaflow exhaust system and a K&N air filter.
Suspension: Handling and ride quality have been improved as well with the addition of an Eibach Springs suspension kit featuring Hurst-tuned coil over shocks, springs and sway bar.
Exterior: While the Hurst Mustang’s white-and-gold paint scheme may not be for everyone, it will definitely attract attention. With large gold-painted racing stripes and the Hurst Pace Car logo prominently displayed on the side, there’s no mistaking this car for anything else.
Wheels and tires: It wouldn’t be a true pace car without a set of eye-catching rims, and the Hurst Mustang doesn’t disappoint. Sporting distinctive 20” gold-and-silver polished aluminum wheels by Hurst and BF Goodrich’s g-Force tires, the Hurst Mustang has got plenty of flash to go with its upgrades under the hood.
