Product Description

Whiteline Transmission Mount Insert for all 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 V6 and 5.0L Mustangs with a Manual Transmission and all 2015-2016 EcoBoost Mustangs with a Manual Transmission.

Ford really stepped up to the plate and hit a home run with the 2011-2014 Mustangs, and now 2015-2016 Mustangs, but fell short when they designed the transmission mount for the 6-speed MT82 manual transmission. This is where Whiteline steps in and offers their Manual Transmission Mount Insert for the EcoBoost, V6, GT and Boss 302 Mustangs, as a direct replacement and performance upgrade over the stock insert bushing.

The factory transmission mount has extreme voiding that allows for excessive and dangerous transmission movement which causes misalignment of the linkage mechanism. When that happens the end results are in the form of missed-shifts and binding under aggressive shifting or heavy-cornering. Whiteline has designed this simple, yet effective insert as a direct replacement for your factory transmission mount that fills those voids and improves overall shift engagement during spirited driving, which results in more precise shifts when they count the most!

If you're tired of grinding gears and missing those critical high RPM shifts, this Transmission Mount Insert from Whiteline should be the go to choice for your S197 or S550 Mustang.

*Fits factory 6-speed transmission mounts only.
*The insert bushing comes in black.

Take your shifting to the next level with one of the many different 2011-2016 Short Throw Shifters and Accessories offered by CJ Pony Parts.

Order a Whiteline Transmission Mount Insert for your 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 or 2016 V6 or 5.0L Mustang with a Manual Transmission or 2015-2016 EcoBoost Mustang with a Manual Transmission from CJ Pony Parts today!

Whiteline Transmission Mount Insert V6/5.0L 2011-2016/EcoBoost 2015-2016 is rated 4.466666666666667 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Whiteline Transmission Insert This is a great part! Whiteline really did make a bang-for-your-buck part here! It did improve my 2nd to 3rd shift feel. Feels much more accurate. However, I put it on my brand new 2015 GT and it is way too harsh and noisy for a brand new car! This is my daily driver, and although I'll get on it occasionally between stoplights, I'm not racing it. If you race your brand new Mustang, you'll love this. If the car is daily driven, it's a little harsh. I even cut a hole in the middle like CJ suggests and it was still too much, for me. Ease of installation couldn't be simpler. In my garage I put mine on ramps, put a floor jack to hold the tranny and had it installed in about 10 minutes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy, quick bang for the buck part Installation is incredibly simple and gave me a good reason to buy a new torque wrench. It makes an immediate difference in feel. I drilled mine with a 3/4" bit before installation. I can tell some difference particularly in mid-high rpm range in noise and vibration, but it certainly isn't a problem. At idle and lower rpm its not really a noticeable difference in vibration or noise. It's nice and I would recommend it. People bag on the M82 Trans but its a great gearbox and feels really good on a street car, and this just added some reduction in flex in the driveline. It's not a night and day difference but if you're looking at this part you should probably just try it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Works After reading about issues concerning shift feel, figured for $30, I'd give it a try. Car was on jack stands anyway for the exhaust and springs, so just put a jack under the tranny, and did the job. Tried using water as a lubricant on the insert, with the idea that the water would quickly evaporate so that the insert would be locked in place. As in some other areas of life, realized that had to use a real lubricant to slide the thing in. Once I did that, it was all pleasure. Also installed the little $10 insert for the shift linkage attachment to the underside of the car body. Probably they both work together to get the final result, but the final result is excellent shift feel, and a lot more precision and crispness in getting the tranny into the preferred gear. A couple people who tried it (without me saying anything in advance) assumed that I had put in some sort of gonzo short shift kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the price can't go wrong Added this into my set up with MGW 2nd gen & weighted shift knob and it made shifting slightly better at high RPM, for $30 you can't go wrong with that. NVH only noticeable when you're paying attention to it and didn't bother me. If NVH is a concern to you then I'm sorry you bought the wrong car. Would buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice! Installed this at the same time as I installed a beefier Steeda transmission mount. And a Dynotech Drive shaft. All that I can say, is, what are you waiting for??? Shifting gears is so much more responsive. And easier too! Did a bunch of things to my car this winter. And just took it out for the first time the other day. I only noticed positive! People have expressed concern about noise and vibration. My car is super charged. And has headers to boot! If I was worried about noise and vibration, I would have bought a Prius!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Improvement Over Stock I purchased this WhitelineTransmission Mount Insert as the first step in improving the sloppiness found in the stock M82 6-speed manual trans on my 2014 mustang GT/CS. It was a pretty easy install using ramps and definitely helped. There is, however, more room for improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Easy to install, does its job well. Jus a little grease and a big set of pliers, it pops right in, no problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not to stiff Everyone is saying how stiff it is, but I do not think so. Overall very nice, not to bad for a daily driver

I have a 2016 Mustang V6 automatic with 1600 miles and feel a vibration when I go to 55 / 60 MPH and up. That could be fixed with your part?

Asked by: John Ford
You could possibly have a tire or driveshaft balance problem, with it being a new car with very low miles you should take it back to your dealership and have them repair it.

Is there a need for this part if you already have a blowfish bracket installed? Would both parts together be better or overkill?

Asked by: itsalley
They can be used together but not necessary, you may get some vibration through the shifter.

Will this fit my 5.0 even if I have the blowfish bracket already installed? 2015 GT performance pack

Asked by: Da Fox
They should fit together, the bushing may have to be trimmed where it sticks out of the mount where the bracket bolts to.

What exhaust is that in the video?

Asked by: Big 50
Depends on which video you are speaking of. The video featuring the installation done on our 2013 GHIR had American Racing Headers with a MBRP Race Cat-Back. The 2015 install was done on a car equipped with a Magnaflow Competition Cat-Back.

do I really need grease or would WD-40 be okay

Asked by: mgrider17
You do not specifically need grease, but you will however need some kind of lubricant for installation. It is a very snug fit. WD-40 should work fine though, but we do recommend using grease.

Whiteline Transmission Mount Insert V6/5.0L 2011-2016/EcoBoost 2015-2016 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: We've been pretty happy with the MT82 manual transmission in our 2013 Gotta Have It Race car, but we're always looking for ways to improve it. When Whiteline introduced this transmission mount insert, there was a huge buzz on the internet, so we couldn't wait to get our hands on one to see if this little part would truly make a big difference. Today, we're going to show you how to install the mount, and we're going to take it for a test drive to see how well it works.

The mount is a very simple part made of a firm synthetic elastomer material. What it does is it fills up the void in the factory transmission mount, making it stronger and less likely to move under shifts. For this installation, you'll need a jack and jack stands or a lift and pull jack, a 1/2 inch impact gun or 1/2 inch ratchet, 19 mm socket, 17mm socket, and safety glasses.

The installation is pretty straightforward. You want to support your transmission. You're going to remove the 4 bolts that hold the crossmember in, remove the crossmember from the mount, insert the mount, and reinstall the crossmember. We've got the transmission supported, so now we can remove the crossmember bolts. Remove the nuts that hold the crossmember to the mounts, and remove the crossmember.

Here you can see the voids in the factory rubber mount. Our insert is going to basically fit right in those openings to strengthen the entire assembly. I'm going to put some of the supplied grease onto the insert before we install it. Slide it up into place and it slides right in. We'll reinstall the crossmember, and the installation is finished.

I'd say the car shifts nice and feels real tight. One of the things we were concerned about was an increase in noise and vibration from the mount. Basically, it is almost a solid mount and anybody who's got a solid mount in their car knows a lot of vibration is transferred through. We're happy to report, it's pretty minimal. There's a little bit of an increase we can feel through the car, but overall it's very minor and something that you can live with on a daily drive with no problem.

Now we'll try a 2-3 shift. It's supposed to be one of the biggest noticeable differences with this bushing. Perfect, it went right in and felt real solid. The Whiteline mount insert worked exactly as advertised with no noticeable increase in noise or vibration. Our 2-3 shift especially is a lot firmer. Installation couldn't be easier, and should only take you around 10 minutes. You'll be back on the road in no time.
