Wilwood's front disc brake kit will offer upgrade solutions for OEM drum or disc splindles. The forged Dynalite 4-piston calipers are designed to have one of the best wheel clearance in the market. The 4-piston calipers are constructed out of forged aluminum which helps against corrosion and reduces heat transfer. With this being a fixed caliper design, Wilwood’s front brake kit provides superior clamping power which decreases the stopping distance greatly. The intended vehicle application will conveniently require zero installation modifications for installation and clears most 14" OEM disc brake wheels.

This one piece design rotor is precision machined for smoother engagement which provides for a long lasting rotor life even with heavy braking situations. The vented rotors dissipates the heat provided from the clamping force of the caliper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great set for conversion I used this set of brake to convert my 67 Mustang to disk. These fit fine with my 14" magnum 500 rims. The kit comes with everything and great instructions. It was easy to install and everything fit perfectly. The only modification was the existing brake line fittings to the Wilwood connector. I had to change the 3/8" fitting to 1/4". Great set of brakes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Brakes Conversion I just put this conversion kit on my 66 mustang and it went on perfectly. Took like an hour and a half. Comes with all the parts you need and even spare bolts and washers and brake fittings. I just have say my mustang stops like a million times better. Performance wise, you can't beat these brakes. The only thing that gave me a little trouble was on one side the lower caliper bolt that bolts into the backing plate hit the lower control arm so the bolt couldn't be twisted in. So after about 30 seconds of grinding away just a fraction of an inch on the control arm, it went perfectly fine. Hardly even a hang up. The other thing i really like about this kit is that literally all wheels will fit without hitting the caliper. I have older style wheels on my mustang that are made for drum brakes but they still clear the caliper on this kit unlike any other disc brake set up. If you look closely they machined the disc hubs in a way that makes the hub stick out further than the caliper so there will be no possibility of rubbing on the caliper. If you know anything about disc brakes, even on modern cars, this is never the case, the caliper always stick out further than the hub. These saved me from having to buy new wheels. Anyways i love the kit, super easy to put on. I would buy it a thousand times over again. Sorry for the long response but hopefully it helps someone.

Product Questions

i purchased a 66' mustang kit and everything worked great except the hoses, have not figured out a way to attach the hoe to the caliper. i assume you remove a bleeder and replace it with a straight fitting which was not in the kit.the 90 degree fitting .

The 140-13476 Mustang brake kit requires the use of line kit 220-12168 which is included in the kit. The components to mount complete are in this kit, hoses, chassis fittings & retainer clips and the caliper fittings (1/8-27 NPT X 45 deg.) The caliper itself receives the NPT end. Now for the important part...DO NOT remove a bleeder, these are not to be used as inlets, on the inboard side of the caliper body is a black sticker that states 1/8-27 NPT, remove that sticker and you'll see the inlet port.

Kit just arrived. The information on the website says Zero modifications needed. First page of Wilwood installation manual says " three holes need to be drilled out and new thread tapped in" Can someone explain? 1968 5.0 Mustang.

The 140-13476 front brake kit is designed for use on 65-69 Mustangs. The 68-69 3-hole spindles require slight modification to enlarge those existing three holes, earlier 4-hole spindles do not require modification.

Will these brakes work with 15 inch American Racing Torque Thrust Wheels? Most likely?

Hello - Assuming your referring to the Classic Series kit p/n 140-13476, it is stated that the kit will fit most 14" wheels so a 15" wheel should not be a problem. If unsure, Wilwood supplies the Wheel Clearance diagram on the landing page of its website. keep in mind that the Classic Series kits were designed for those individuals that, in most cases want to retain factory wheels and hubcaps so we made them as compact as possible.

We have not tested that exact fitment. Wilwood states that this front disc brake kit will allow you to use some 14" and 15" wheels.
