- Detailed Instructions

The Dynalite 4-piston calipers are constructed out of stainless steel which helps against corrosion and reduces heat transfer. With this being a floating caliper design Wilwood’s front brake kit provides superior clamping power which decreases the stopping distance greatly.

Wilwood's Smart Pad brake pads feature a medium-friction compound with very low noise and minimum dust of a street performance compound, plus the increased characteristics of a race compound brake pad. The Wilwood smart brake pads have smooth engagement, with consistent response from a flat torque curve throughout their entire effective heat range.

This one piece drilled and slotted rotor design is precision machined for smoother engagement which provides for a long lasting rotor life even with heavy braking situations. The drilled and slotted rotors get rid of the heat provided from the heavy clamping force of the caliper. The rotor is coated in a durable e-coat finish prevents corrosion from occurring.

Replacing brakes are a necessity of owning any Mustang. However, while they will always wear out, the brakes on your 1965-1969 Mustang don't need to wear out as fast when you install well engineered, high performance braking components. With CJ Pony Parts now offering the latest selection of brakes from Wilwood, you can find these parts at some of the best prices around.

Product Questions

The manufacturer instructions say that drilling/modifications might be involved. My 65 Mustang came with a V8 and drum brakes. Will I need to drill/modify anything or is that only required if you had the factory installed disc brakes? Thanks!

Asked by: MadUni
I believe the drilling and tapping is for cars originally equipped with disc brakes.

Can you price this kit for me minus the caliper brackets, bearings and seals? However, I would need the caliper crossover lines if they aren't included in kit already.

Asked by: Dfackler24
This kit is only available as it is listed.

Do the calipers mount infront of the disc or behind? Like if your looking at the passenger side is the caliper on the left or right hand side?

Asked by: 65flyfalcon
They mount behind the rotor. If you are looking at the passenger side is the caliper on the left side of the rotor.

Hi, I have a 66 V8 Mustang automatic, I assume I can add a brake booster part number BM1520K to this and not require any additional parts?

Asked by: Stevep100
You would want a automatic brake booster conversion like part #BM1524.

Will 11.3 Wildwood Disk Brake Kit (DBF200DB) work with a 14" x 6 American Racing Torque Thrust II wheel

Asked by: Jerry413
Possibly. We have not tested any specific wheels with these brake kits. Wilwood states that they will work with some 14" and 15" Wheels but they do NOT say which ones. You can download a template and all the measurements from Wilwood's website. That way you can check your wheels and know if this kit is compatible.

Will I be able to use the original master cylinder that is on my car? Or will it need to be replaced?

Asked by: stanger65
Depends on the master cylinder you have. It could be perfectly fine, or you might need a new one if the one you have is under sized.

Asked by: boci
No, the parking brake typically works with the rear brakes, not the front brakes.
