Great Sealant
I recommend this sealant for any weather strip style window glass installation. By far the best I have used.

Works good.
Works as expected. Not much to say other than that.

This is butyl
Most of the Mustang forums recommend the 3M 8509 bedding and glazing compound because it's similar to the stuff Ford used back in the day and is Butyl and thus will not harden and will maintain a flexible seal between the windshield, gasket, and frame as designed. I was a bit freaked-out when I got my 2 tubes of this 'CRL Window Weld' because the 'window weld' I know about is 3M's product with is a firm-hardening urethane! I was within about 5 minutes of assuming that this was the same stuff and going down to NAPA to get their house butyl until I found the product description for this on CRL's web site that clearly stated that this is BUTYL just like the 3M glazing and bedding compound. I continued on with my windshield install and it went great but sticky and messy as all get out. This cleans up with mineral spirits so don't freak out if you get it all over the place. Also, it does set up a bit firmer after 24 hours but not hard like urethane. The 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the 'window weld' sc

By Bill Tumas: We're here with a replacement windshield weather strip, fitting all 1964 through 1968 Mustangs. This heavy duty weather strip will fit Coupes, convertibles and Fastbacks. It's designed to be installed on the glass itself, before the glass is installed in the vehicle.

When ordering windshield weather stripping, you want to make sure you have at least 18 feet of a nice nylon string, the window wield caulk (two tubes are recommended), as well as a strip caulk for proper installation. Start by installing the weather stripping on the glass, which will go in this channel right here. This is a pressure fit channel, so there is no sealant necessary. Just put the glass right in. Once you have the glass installed in there, you want to open up this rear channel back here. In this channel, you want to put the strip caulk in and then the string and that's how you're going to install it on your vehicle.

Once it's installed in the car, you use the window wield tube to go around the whole outside to seal it properly. Our windshield weather stripping is sold separately. It's also available in our complete Mustang weather strip kits.
