1992 Mustang Doors & Door Skins
1992 Doors & Door Skins
Before you even think about painting and putting the finishing touches on your 1992 Mustang restoration, make sure you’ve taken care of all of the essential points. Any bodywork and panel replacements should be completed first, of course. But you should also think about replacing your door hardware, too. There are a few checks to do to determine exactly what needs to be repaired:
• Simply opening and closing your doors will tell you if the hinges and latches are functioning properly. If your doors sag, squeak or are hard to shut, your hinges and latches are probably worn out.
• Do you notice any water leaks or wind noise when you’re driving? This could mean your door and window seals are worn, weathered or torn, and they need to be replaced.
• Is your door handle hard to operate, inside or out? Do the locks and window crank function properly? Are the armrest and trim inside still fully attached? Do you hear any rattles inside your doors?
Once you’ve gone over your doors with this list, you will have a better idea of what is broken and needs replacing. The next step is to consult our catalog and find all of the parts you listed for your 1992 Mustang.
