After the installation of this new resonator delete, you will notice a mild bump in power since it outflows the OE system by more than 20%. Manufactured entirely out of Aluminized Steel, this X-Pipe will bolt-in once two simple cuts are made and the OEM segment is unbolted and removed. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds okay Them posting a video with aftermarket mufflers was kinda misleading as this x pipe makes a 5.0 with stock mufflers sound horrible, like a v6 with exhaust is exactly how it sounded. These probably sound awesome with aftermarket mufflers but with stock definitely not. Therefore, I cut out my mufflers and now my exhaust sounds pretty good. Took 5 days for 2 day shipping to get here. Also, know that the factory clamps are somewhat spring loaded so you gotta shove something in there to keep them from reclamping while sliding the x pipe in. Overall happy I bought this for around 90 bucks I couldn’t bare driving a quiet V8.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pipe at a great price I bought this on the black Friday promotion for a bit over $80. Shipping was fast, and upon receipt, I cleaned...sanded...and VHT coated it black. Installation was simple. A sawsall or angle grinder makes easy work of the cutting process. My car sounds much better now. It's not obtrusive at low rpm, but it definitely has a lot more roar beyond 2K. I've noticed a slight improvement in throttle response as well. Don't hesitate to buy this x-pipe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get this x-pipe!! The sound that my 2015 GT makes with this x-pipe along with my Roush axle backs is incredible. It is loud but the sound is deep and amazing. No drone at all. Bill is right...inside the car with the windows up, you can hear it but It's not loud. But outside the car sounds like a war zone! I love it! Glad I got it! If you're on the fence about getting an xpipe, especially if you already have the Roush axle back, get it! 5 stars from me. Easy install as well. Took me about an hour and a half by myself w jack and jack stands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great X-Pipe for $84 Shipped I bought this because after I got my new GT I was too poor for a full exhaust system and the stock exhaust was quieter than my stock '95 miata exhaust. It adds a bit of nice v8 rasp but only makes the exhaust about 10% louder. I rent and have neighbors so I didn't want to get something super loud. I was able to install this with a hacksaw and Rhino Ramps in a carport. Fit was just fine you have to make sure you measure well before you cut. Shipping from CJ was very quick and free which is partially why I chose this part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why pay more? After purchasing my gt I immediately knew I would make changes to the exhaust. That's what you're supposed to do with mustangs. Anyhow I saw the other resonator delete kit and was amused at the prices. I came across the cj mid pipe and jumped at the price. It does make the stock exhaust sound much better and installation is easy. Measure twice and cut once. I ended up purchasing a used axleback for a 2010 and having it modified for my 16. With the cj mid pipe and the American Thunder kit from Craigslist I'm out $200 for a full cat back system. Great deal, fast shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for your Mustang GT. I was really surprised how much it opened up the exhaust to add this X pipe. I have the Borla ATAK axle back exhaust and it was pretty load before deleting the factory resonator. Once the X pipe was installed it really came alive. I can tell a difference in performance as well as it is extremely load with the ATAK mufflers. It sounds like a beast, little pops and a mean raspy sound when the car downshifts. No drone at highway speeds at all. When you get on it everyone stops and looks.

Product Questions

Getting a brand new 2018 Mustang GT in a month. Might need to pay an extra $2k for the extended warranty, but not sure yet. Q1: If I get this installed, does this effect the warranty void? Q2: Do you ship to APO? If so, how much for this item?

I just bought a 19 gt 5.0 and thoroughly went through the warranty and jyst is, only when you modify lubricated parts aka the engine , like turbo , cams , or charger . Is the only thing that would void the warranty. Some things you can upgrade that are lubricated and the dealer will never know it's been done but be sure and tell the mechanic he must not put any of the hash Mark's with a paint pen on anything . Th that's how they will know , other than it sounding like it has a. Am or yo uh the obvious stuff like chargers or turbos you can modify all you want!

Hi will this still enable the active exhaust to function on 2018 gt 5.0

This actually DOES effect the active exhaust. The passenger side expanded under heat in track mode and crimped the wiring into the bumper after installing it with what seemed like plenty of clearance. I installed it and cut exactly where I was told to per the directions on the site and video. This product will cause active exhaust failure on the passenger side. I am not a happy customer.

By Bill Tumas: We found one of the easiest ways to improve the exhaust system of your 2015 Mustang GT is to get rid of the heavy restrictive factory resonator. By removing the resonator could provide more flow to your exhaust, which will increase horsepower and increase sound regardless whether you have a stock or aftermarket axle-back system. Today, we're going to turn up the volume on our 2015 Mustang GT convertible by installing this Resonator Delete X-Pipe. This Resonator Delete X-Pipe is made of aluminized steel and it's a direct replacement for the factory pipe. It will require cutting, but once installed, it's going to save weight over the factory resonator as well as providing additional flow and a louder exhaust tone.

For this installation, a lift or a jack and jack stands, 3/8 ratchet, 13-mm socket, 15-mm socket, tape measure, marker, Sawzall, and safety glasses. A resonator lead's going to go right here and replace the factory resonator. What we got to do is unbolt the exhaust in the front, take the whole system off so we can cut it back here. You don't want to cut it on the car. The main reason why, when you cut here, it's going to provide sparks. This plastic cover here is your fuel tank. Not a good place to cut the car. The exhaust is easy to get off. We're going to pull off our cat-back and then start the cutting.

Whether you have a stock system or an aftermarket axle back, the removal is the same process. Remove these 2 bolts here to get rid of the hangers, then remove the 4, 15-inch bolts up front. Now, we're going to line up the X-Pipe to figure out where to cut. We know it's roughly about 4 inches off the resonator. Basically, we do is we put the pipe on top, can line up everything and take a look. We go 4 inches off, goes right down the middle, which looks good. We have the pipes cut off. Instead of connecting this to the pipe we just cut, we're going to start by putting this in the factory location and then we'll add the tailpipes. We'll slide in the clamps and tighten it down. Now, we're going to snug these down. Don't make them tight yet because you probably will have to make adjustments later.

I'll put the tailpipes back on. We'll start by putting them in the rear hangers. Now, we'll slide the factory tailpipe into our new X-Pipe. Now, we'll do the same process with the passenger side. Now, we'll line up the clamps and tighten it down. Now, we'll snug up the factory front clamps, put in the rear bolts, and the installation's finished. Now, let's see how it sounds with the Resonator Delete X-Pipe. Removing the resonator totally changed the volume. This car's at least twice as loud, and much more aggressive.

This setup is definitely loud. We've done the MRT H-Pipe in the past. I'm sorry, the MRT X-Pipe in the past with the standard Roush axle-back, and that was definitely one of the louder systems. I mean, it's been hugely popular. I know a lot of you guys love it. If that's the sound you're looking for, this is the quad tip version. I actually think its possible with the quad-tip mufflers with this new X-Pipe, I think it's even louder. If you want to make an entrance, this is the way to do it. I'm cruising at 2000 rpm on the highway. It doesn't have drone, but you hear it. I mean, you know it's back there. A lot of systems like we've recently done where on highway speeds the exhaust goes away. The case of this, it's definitely still there but it doesn't have that droning tone that'll drive you nuts on the highway. You just hear the exhaust.

Yeah, this thing's loud till about 3500 and then it gets even louder. Here we are again cruising highway speeds 2000 rpm where most mufflers are going to have the most noticeable drone to them. It's perfectly livable. I mean, you know it's back there and you can hear it, but it's not like one of those tones that just gets really old after a while. Even at highway speeds downshift, you hear it in a hurry. That's 3 grand and it gets a lot louder at 4. Without a doubt one of the most aggressive sounding systems we have in a 15 yet. It might not be for everybody, but if you like that loud aggressive tone, it's a good choice.

As you can tell, adding the Resonator Delete X-Pipe totally changed the sound on our 2015 Mustang. While it sounded good with the original mufflers, it sounded even better with the Roush. By getting rid of the resonator, it totally changed the car. It's a much louder overall tone. We did weigh it as well and you're saving almost 10 pounds by getting rid of the factory resonator and going to the lead pipe. Overall, the installation's pretty straightforward. It'll take you around, so you'll be back on the road in no time.
