Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weak in More Than One Way As another reviewer noted, the holes on the item I received were about an 1/8th of an inch too far apart. I decided to use a rubber mallet to *lightly* tap on one tab with the other tab sitting on concrete to bend the two ends closer together. After the third tap, the spot welds holding the bracket to the pump body broke loose. Looking at the welds, they were all weak with two being barely visible at all. After addressing those issues (JB Weld) and installing the pump along with new hoses, I was very disappointed to find the washer fluid just barely squirted out onto the driver's side and dribbles out of the passenger side (doesn't even make it to the windshield.) The nozzles are not blocked. It's just a very weak "pump". Not sure how that compares to OE because I just got this car, but surely OE could at least get the fluid to the windshield on both sides. :/

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Replacement My original pump had finely failed after 52 years. this replacement pump hooked up perfectly, mounted to the original mounting holes perfectly, looks great and best of all works perfectly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks when not in use and is very weak Bought this back 4 months ago in a large order when I installed it and filled the bag it did not leak the next day I tested everything on the car and the pump was really weak after sitting over night it leaked the fluid out from the bottom of the pump. I contacted CJPony and they sent me another one it did the very same thing and yes I have all new hoses. It leaks between the metal housing and the plastic nipple on the bottom. Really poor design and product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Windshield Washer Pump - Great buy! I looked at all the reviews, the good out weighted the bad and I can now honestly say that this pump works great for my 1966 Mustang Coupe. I ordered new hose replacements for mine. I recommend it as my thoughts were for a little extra money, you get clean water lines and that could be some of the problems out there.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work. The top is abit smaller than the stock one therefore fluid pours out with any movement and becomes loose. I don’t know if it works since it wouldn’t work after I plugged it in. I’m getting a replacement, hopefully it works.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Barely squirts This looks exactly like the old one. But it barely squirts water. And why is it called 2 speed? It is very weak. Also the bolt holes barely line up. I got a one speed for my other 66 Mustang and it works great!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from At least it looks nice. Had to fight the bracket during installation. The holes were not even close. It looks nice, but for the price it should have been made in the U.S.A or at least lined up correctly.

Hi. I currently have a one speed washer pump in a 65 GT. The description says I can use this 2 speed pump as an improvement over what I have. Will this unit work with my current washer switch, or do I need to change that also?

Asked by: callek
You wouldn't need to change the switch.

Very bad reviews.  How many have you sold?  It may be that the only reviews are from people with bad experiences.  If we don't buy this, is there other suggestions?

Asked by: Gyro
There shouldn't be a problem with the part, if there is we will take care of it.

I have a one speed motor. How can I wire up the two speed pump to a one speed motor?

Asked by: sflip09
You have to find which wire will power the pump so it pumps in the correct direction and ground the other wire.

Which side is up? does it matter how the two wires are hooked up? Re: windshield washer pump for '66 Comet two spd pump.

Asked by: oldfred
The end opposite the wires goes up.  (Wires on bottom.)  The wires can be hooked up either way.
