The filter-to-housing interface ensures that the maximum filter size is used which increases the available air volume while at the same time increasing ease of installation.

For your convenience, a premium stainless steel T-bolt clamp and silicone couplers are used for strength and durability while also providing a very secure installation. Momentum GT intakes are designed with fewer parts than most cold air intake systems for a quick and simple installation.

Today we’re installing this aFe Momentum GT cold air intake.

This intake is gonna be a direct fit replacement for the factory intake with its Rotomolded intake tube and a one-piece sealed housing. It features a massive pre-oiled Pro 5R air filter and an inspection window so you know when it's time to clean the filter. It comes with everything you need for a quick and easy bolt-on installation and it'll help our F-150 breathe and sound a whole lot better.

Tools you'll need for this installation, a 7 millimeter socket, 8 millimeter socket, 1/4" ratchet, an 11 millimeter socket, 13 millimeter socket, a 3/8 ratchet, a trim panel removal tool, and you'll might need a flathead screwdriver.

All right, so we have the hood open. The first thing we're gonna do to install this intake is remove the factory intake by loosening this clamp here and one down here. You can use a 7 millimeter socket to loosen these clamps or a flathead screwdriver. Once you get it loose, you can separate the wide pipe. Pop off the clips on the air box and you can remove this part of the intake once you've disconnected this sensor. Remove the two tabs that are on the air box, also this sensor, then this 13 millimeter bolt, and the whole airbox should come out. The air box can now be removed. Locate the PCV hose going to the driver's side turbo inlet hose. Press on the gray tab to pull it off.

Locate the tube insert that comes with your kit and if you'll notice, it has a slash cut right here on the bottom. You want to opening facing the turbo, so you're gonna install it in this tube right here just like this. This is so you don't get a check engine light. If you don't install this or if you install it without the slash facing the turbo like that, you will get a check engine light. It will be a tight fit, so you do have to give it a good push. Once you get it installed, reinstall the PCV fitting just like that. Whenever we're at our workbench now, locate this grommet on the factory air box. This need to be transferred over to our AFV box right here. Place the grommet in the AFV air box then install this sleeve from the inside. To make sure this seals properly, we're gonna install this piece of trim around the air scoop right here. Grab the factory wide pipe and locate the sensor on it. Twist it counterclockwise to remove it. Install the rubber grommet and insert into the AFV wide pipe.

I'm gonna apply some WD40 to make this a little easier. Once you get that installed, you can install the factory sensor. We're now ready to install the AFV air box. Line it up with the two grommets on the bottom, then you're gonna install your bolt right here. It's kind of tricky to line the bolt up, but it is possible to do. Then tighten the bolt. Install the provided push pins on the front of the air inlet right here. Install the massive air filter into the air box. Push it all the way in like that. Install the adaptor coupler onto the passenger side turbo inlet tube with a hose clamp and put the smaller side on the inlet tube. Install the larger coupler and clamps onto the driver's side inlet tube. With both couplers installed, you can install the wide pipe. Once you get the wide pipe fully seated, you can tighten all the clamps. Use an 11 millimeter socket on the clamp for the air filter. Last thing we have to do is plug in this temperature sensor and we are done.

All right, our AFV cold air intake is installed. It looks way cooler than the factory intake and this air inlet is way bigger than the factory inlet as well. It should really help this truck breathe a lot better. Installation really isn't too bad. It should only take about 45 minutes to an hour. Before you know it, you'll be heading off-road.
