Iron Sport rear disc brake conversion kit for 1979-1993 Mustangs with 7.5 or 8.8 rear axle housings.

This kit will convert your existing 5-Lug Drum Brake equipped Mustang to disc brakes rear.

Introduced in 2008, this system is the latest innovation in affordable braking performance. It's known that one of the most significant upgrades you can make to your muscle-car is the elimination of your worn and outdated drum brake system. No other component has the ability to not only save your life, but also increase driving excitement and satisfaction.

*This is NOT a 5-Lug Conversion, is does NOT include any hardware or parts to convert your 4-Lug to a 5-Lug setup.

Cast iron with integral park brake
Number of Pistons - 1
Construction - Cast Iron
Caliper Finish - Black Paint

Rotor Specs:
Diameter - 11.630"
Thickness - .810"
Vented, Y/N - Yes, Directionally curved vane
Standard Finish - Slotted, Drilled and Zinc Plated

Parking Brake cables are not included. Use Lokar universal cables (PBCR30 for stainless or PBCR31 for black)

Notes: Designed to fit most 15" or larger wheels. To verify fit in any wheel, please view the brake template to check your wheel for clearance. Baer recommends that you check all wheel's at any diameter for clearance as wheel center designs also have an effect on caliper clearance.

5 lug conversion already done but with drum brakes, will these rotors work with these axles or will I have to change them out due to the axle flange

To use this kit is it required to replace the axles due to the axle flange from drum to disk or are these rotors direct fit.

You would have to replace the 4 lug axles with 5 lug axles.

What does "7.5 or 8.8" rear axle housing refer to?

It refers to the size of the ring gear, the 7.5 came in 6 cylinders and the 8.8 came in the v8 cars.

as long as i have switch over to a 5 lug conversion this kit should bolt right up yes along with proportioning valve, brake cable and master cylinder what about brake booster
