Master Power Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit for 1967, 1968 and 1969 Mustangs with an Automatic Transmission.

Upgrade your 1967-1969 Mustang with disc brakes from Master Power. This Master Power (DB1521PANS) Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit comes with everything needed to convert to power disc brakes. Master Power engineered the kit to use factory style components and bolt-on without modification. Master Power uses the factory style 4-piston caliper for much easier wheel fitment and installation. The calipers are the same ones that Ford originally used as an upgrade on early Shelby Mustangs. This means most 14" wheels can be used.

Calipers are mounted with precision CNC machined billet aluminum brackets. The brackets are stronger and more consistent in fit and finish than traditional steel brackets. This complete bolt-on system uses your original V8 5-lug spindles. All components bolt to the factory spindles without any modifications needed. Even the brake booster pin is correctly set for the master cylinder.

Master Power Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit Includes:
- 4-piston OE style calipers and brake pads
- Billet aluminum caliper brackets
- 11-1/4" vented rotors
- 9" single diaphragm power booster
- Brake pedal
- Dual reservoir master cylinder
- Combination valve kit

Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 1 size fits nothing I bought this thinking it would be a relatively easy installation but the opposite is true. There's nothing straight forward about installing this kit. The master cylinder is massive and quite heavy compared to the stock item. The proportioning valve is poorly machined where the flared ends screw on, and none of the factory brake lines will mate up with it, so you are required to either modify or make new brake lines. I'm a retired aircraft mechanic so I can manage the hassles but this kit is definitely not for the amateur mechanic looking for an easy install. Dust covers are not supplied although other maker's kits supply them at less cost. This kit costs over a grand. My mistake was not looking for other options before buying. Too late now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from this kit is terrible I spent an entire summer trying to get this kit to work. The brake pedal is stiff and feels like the booster is not working. I have replaced The master cylinder, combo valve and booster all supplies by master power brakes. I am only getting 200 psi at the callipers. The people from master power brakes could not figure it out so I am stuck with it because it still wasn't working when the warranty ended. This kit has been an absolute nightmare for me and I have my truck and coach and automotive mechanics licenses

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product but requires modifications We bought this kit to do a power disc brake conversion under the impression it was a direct bolt on. This kit required a lot of modifications. 1) the dust shields had to be ground on the corners so the holes would align. 2) major modifications are needed on the firewall, holes have to be elongated, new holes drilled, the original brake pedal assembly needs additional works as the mounting nuts need to be drilled out. Also needs a new hole drilled in it. I would suggest looking at master powers site as they show these modifications in the installation pdf. 3) I got no info on the brake rod. It attached with no issue but the pedal is completely on the floor. They do mention possibly grinding the back so the lights don't stay on. 4) we are doing new brake lines so i didn't have to do a lot of modifying to the existing lines but there are so minor tweeks needed in hooking them up. If you have the ability, time and tools this is probably a 2 day job. I would say this is not for a novice or someone who does not have patience. Skill level moderate to difficult.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Master Power front disc Brake conversion This was an outstanding kit. All the pieces fit perfectly and the instructions got us completed in record time. They were spot on with the things that needed to be done to finish the job, like reaming the hole in the firewall and the shaving off a fraction to keep the brake light from staying on. I am seriously considering getting the rear disc kit. I would do this again in a heartbeat!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bolt on? We bought this for our 68' Mustang and there was not one part of this that was "bolt" on, the entire system had to be fabricated and we ended taking it to our local shop to have them finish it!! more than a little fabrication was needed on the firewall to get the brake booster to fit and the steering column had to be removed to get the brake pedal installed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible kit Problem 1: did not receive dust shields. Problem 2: dust caps did not fit at all! Problem 3: break line on calipers does not fit on styled steel wheels without rubbing heavily!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from missing parts needed to just start I bought this kit couple months ago and just getting started to install. removed all my driver side parts, had to destroy line to get it off. go to install and found out missing side shields and 2 different bearings. that is just to start. wish I would have read the reviews and I would have not ordered this kit. its sunday the 31st so have to wait till Tuesday to call for parts.
